Yuyao increased 6 provincial famous trademarks

According to Yuyao Bureau for Industrial and Commercial Administration, Zhejiang Provincial Administration of Industry and Commerce recently announced 335 Zhejiang famous trademarks for 2013. 6 trademarks including UME of Yuyao Yaohua Lighting Co., Ltd., and Yuyao Water Bamboo Shoots are entitled Zhejiang Provincial Famous Trademarks. In addition, Yuyao has 12 trademarks approved by Ningbo Municipal Administration of Industry and Commerce as Ningbo Famous Trademarks. Statistics show that by the end of 2013, Yuyao has over 13,000 trademarks, and 9 geographical indication trademarks, including 11China-famous trademarks and 74 Provincial Famous Trademarks, taking the lead in Zhejiang.

Yuyao's export to emerging witnesses steady growth

According to Yuyao Administration for Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine, in 2013, despite the general flagging situation of foreign trade, Yuyao's export to emerging still witnessed a steady growth. Statistics show that the Administration granted 6047 preference certificates of origin of various kinds, and the exports value 19 million US dollars, increased by 3.92% and 8.90% respectively.

At present, the countries with which China has established the relationship of free trade areas are mainly developing countries. Since 2013, Yuyao enterprises has made full use of the free trade agreements China has signed with the emerging market economies and the benefits by the tariff reduction and exemption by preference certificates of origin. As a result, ASEAN, Chile and the Asian and Pacific countries have become the countries and regions that contribute most to the export of Yuyao, reaching 89,619,000 US dollars, 60,550,000 US dollars and 28,875,000 US dollars, covering 93% of the total export of Yuyao. In terms of the growth rate, the main growth points are in Asian-Pacific countries and China-Chile free trade area. The exports by the Asian-Pacific free trade certificates of origin increased by 34.65% and the exports by China-Chile free trade certificates of origin increased by 26.40%.

Hangzhou Bay Agricultural Expo opens in Cixi

Good news for Cixi purchasers of goods for the Spring Festival. On the morning of January 1, the 3rd Hangzhou Bay Agricultural Expo opened in Cixi Conference and Exhibition Center. The three-day expo will last to 19.

Besides 93 Cixi local companies, to the expo will come 118 companies from Ningbo, Hangzhou, Jiaxing, Shaoxing and other cities in the neighborhood of Hangzhou Bay. Some 20 companies from Taiwan will also come to the expo.

Ningbo speeding up wetland remediation project

Jiulonghu Wetland Park, a project covering over 500 ha, recently started its construction and is to complete in four months.

Investigation shows that There is a general decrease of national wetland in Ningbo and an increase of man-made wetland, and the decrease is faster than the increase. In the last year, following the newly release "Rules of Protection of Wetland of Zhejiang", Ningbo initiated the wetland remediation project. This project aims to remediate the wetland and making scientific protection and rational development of the water bodies, landscape, animal and plant resources and historical and cultural resources.

Statistics show that Ningbo Area put about 100 million yuan in the wetland remediation project, pushing forward the remediation of over 10 wetlands including Yuyao Urban Wetland, Yinzhou Jiaokou Wetland and Dongqianhu Mashan Wetland. The area remediated totals over 8000 mu. The Andong Marsh at Hangzhou Bay Wetland is listed in Directory of Major Wetlands of China. The Nanjiu Mountain Wetland and a Wetland in Beilun are respectively made provincial-level reserve and municipal-level reserve.

130 villages renovated over two years

Taking a walk in Hopoling Village, a village in Ningbo's Xiangshan County, visitors are appealed by the bamboo paths, pavilions, wooden railings, and ancient wells, which reflect the original color of the old village and add a touch of natural taste to the small village.

"The pavilion and the bamboo path were previously filled with garbage and debris. After the shabby houses were relocated, the space was turned into a vegetable garden. Villagers can even pick the vegetables for free," said a woman surnamed Shi, who picked some vegetables and went home.

Over the past two years, 130 villages like Ho Po Village were renovated and take new look. There are a total of 398 underdeveloped villages in Ningbo. There villages suffer from poor condition due to underdeveloped economy and out-of dated infrastructure. To change the current situation and improve working and living conditions of local villagers, the municipal government issued a document titled "Proposals on Promoting the relatively underdeveloped Areas" at the end of 2011. One key move is to significantly improve the overall infrastructure of the village.

The city launched a renovation project two years ago. In 2012, financial departments on both city and county levels earmarked about 300 million yuan to each village. A total of 70 villages completed renovation projects in 2013 and another 60 villages completed renovation last year. 390 million yuan were funded for the renovation project. Authorities said Ningbo plans to complete the renovation of 50 villages this year.
