Progress of family farms in Ningbo

At the 3rd Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee, it is decided that the country should consolidate the position of family operation in agriculture. As early as in the end of the 1990s, there appeared a number of large family planters of grain, vegetable, fruit, and animal farms. Driven the market and guided by the government departments, those family farms got registered so as to sell their products in the market. So far, the district has 46 family farms engaged in production of grain, vegetable, fruit, and husbandry.

In recent years, the district is promoting land transfer and encouraging appropriate land operation and this has resulted in a number of family farms with family members as the major labour force and strong consciousness in market, science, and innovation. This has become a new drive for the agricultural transformation and upgrading.

Ningbo mould industrial park inviting investment in Guangdong

On December 28, Ningbo Mould Industrial Park held a conference in Shenzhen to introduce Ningbo Mould Industrial Park to Guangdong and to promote the cooperation of the industries in the two places.

Ningbo Mould Industrial Park is jointly established by Ningbo Industrial Investment Group Co., Ltd. and Ninghai County Government. The planned area for the project is 1,500 mu with the investment totaling 3.2 billion yuan. The first phase of the project covers an area of 404 mu, with a floorage of about 230,000 square meters. The total investment is about 500 million yuan and the annual output is estimated to be more than 10 billion yuan.

Guangdong takes the lead in China for the mould industry and it ranks the first in China in the number of mould companies, people engaged in the industry the gross output and the export. 

Meishan Customs opens

Meishan Customs opened on December 28. Lu Ziyue, Vice Secretary of Ningbo Municipal Party Committee and Vice Mayor of Ningbo, and Ye Ping, Chief of Ningbo Customs unveiled the plaque of Meishan Customs.

Meishan Customs is subordinate to Ningbo Customs. Its jurisdiction is the administrative area of Meishan Island in charge of the customs businesses. In March 2009 the preparatory office of the customs opened and since then, it has given support to Ningbo Meishan Free Trade Zone in its application for the business of imported finished automobiles, and its effort to develop the businesses of international allocating and special warehousing and so on. Statistics from the customs show that in the first 11 months in 2013, the transaction volume of import and export cargo in Ningbo Meishan Free Trade Zone amounts to 3,672,000 tons, valuing 11.6 billion US dollars. The containers handled amount to 1 million TEUs, and the total number in the year is estimated to be over 11 million TEUs. Breakthrough is made in the import of finished cars. On December 30 the first batch of imported cars arrived at Meishan. In only half a year, over 10,000 Emgrand EC7 of Geely were exported at the port of Meishan.

Cixi Cultural Business District opened

On the morning of December 29, Cixi Cultural Business District, featured for its perfect facilities of traffic, environment, and office conditions, officially opened. The district is located on the Xincheng Avenue of Cixi. In the five years construction, the investment in the district totals 16 billion yuan. It is referred to as the "sitting room" and center of fortune of Cixi.

According to the responsible person of the construction headquarters of the district, the district is planned to have 38 business buildings, the largest complex of business buildings for the headquarter economy of Cixi. This year, 4 or 5 buildings will be put into use.

Cixi ranks 6th of Top 100 Counties in Regional Economy of China

On the recently released list of the Top 100 Counties in Regional Economy of China Cixi City ranks the sixth.

According to the Report of Economic Development of Counties in 2013, Jiangyin City and Kunshan City of Jiangsu rank the first place and Zhangjiagang, Changshu, Taicang, Jinjiang, Cixi, Yixing, Yiwu, Yuyao, and Zhunge'er qi of Inner Mongolia are of the top 10.

Reportedly, the major economic indexes of the top 100 include the economic competitiveness, the relative prosperity, and the relative green index, highlighting the variables of the residents' income, energy saving, scientific development, social security, safe production, environment protection that reflect the economic development quality and scientific development. According to the report, Cixi scores A plus in the basic economic competitiveness and relative prosperity and A in the relative green index.
