Since the beginning of 2013, by promoting the development of key blocks, enhancing headquarters economy and developing emerging industries, Jiangbei District has made great achievements in industrial transformation and upgrading. In the first ten months of this year, the district realized a fixed assets investment of 15.69 billion yuan, up by 12.9% over the same period last year. The new product output of the large-scale industries reached 9.66 billion yuan, up by 24.4%. The retail sales of the above-limit social commodities reached 10.49 billion yuan, up by 16.0%. Firstly, the steady promotion of the “gazelle plan” has consolidated the foundation of the transformation and upgrading. With the launch of the “gazelle plan” at the beginning of this year, the work of investment attraction has been strengthened, and the development of key blocks and the construction of key projects have been promoted. By the end of October, 28 pieces of land with a total area of 1425.6 mu had been sold with a total sum of 11.73 billion yuan, taking the lead among all the districts in Ningbo.
Secondly, the acceleration of the headquarters economy has provided strong support for transformation and upgrading. The headquarters economy has achieved remarkable results with the opening of the Raffles City and the Diamond Business Plaza, the launching of construction of the nine headquarters buildings of the north-gate business district, and the acceleration of the construction of the Greenland Center and the Olisy Business Plaza. The Northbank Wealth Shipping Logistics Base has been successfully built as the municipal level modern services industry base and one of the first batch of headquarters bases in Ningbo.
