R&D team led by Canadian academician settles in Ningbo University

With the introduction of Wu Ke, an academician of both Canadian Royal Academy of Science and Academy of Engineering, Ningbo University has attracted the settlement of the R&D team of the "key technology and parts for next-generation wireless communications system", led by Professor Wu. The launching ceremony of the R&D team was held at Ningbo University on December 28, attended by the related leaders from the National Natural Science Foundation and the Ministry of Science and Technology, as well as such municipal leaders as Vice-mayor Zhang Minghua.
The R&D team for the "key technology and parts for next-generation wireless communications system" has been listed as one of the high-end 3315 Plan venture teams in Ningbo. 
The team, composed of ten professors or scholars from home and abroad, including Wu Ke, academician of both Canadian Royal Academy of Science and Academy of Engineering, one national 1000-Plan expert, and four professors, aims at the research and development of the key technology of the ultra-high-speed green wireless communications for the next-generation wireless communications system. The research will cover the three key technological projects of the wireless communications, and establish the three product lines of the millimeter-wave components and parts, smart antennas, and optical transceivers and modules.

Science and Technology Authorities Making Efforts to Introduce Brains

In order to further enhance the cooperation and communication among the enterprises of Cixi city and three universities in Northeast China, a group of 24 people, including officials from the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau and industrialists from machinery manufacturing, industries of metallurgy and chemistry, electronic information, and new material and some other areas, went to Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin Engineering University and Shenyang Ligong University to carry out business order canvassing activities. And they made some achievements by reaching agreement upon 5 initial cooperation programs.

University-industry cooperation boosts technological investment

Recently, Ningbo Yongjia Electronic Technology Co. Ltd made primarily confirmation with Sichuan University and UESTC on the design plan of automatic production line for automatic detection, classification and packing of encoders. The company also invited experts from the universities to make field trip in the company so as to facilitate the implementation of the plan. Nowadays more and more enterprises are taking advantage of the R&D ability of the universities to promote their technologic innovation like this.          

    
     Since this year, the government of Cixi has helped enterprises to solve a series of technologic problems by guiding them to actively participate in technology investment promotion activities in and out of the city and by promoting the transformation of science and technology products through cooperation between companies and universities. According to the City Science and Technology Bureau, 12 cooperation projects have been approved in Ningbo this year, with a total sum of 21.88 million Yuan, growing year-on-year of respectively 71.4% and 367.5%, and 15 projects have been applied with a total contract amount rising from 9.624 million last year to 22.47 million Yuan.

Educational equality of Ningbo ranks No.1

We learned from Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Education in November 19 the educational development research center of Ministry of Education has published Monitoring and Comparative study report on Education modernization of 15 vice-provincial cities for ranking education development, equality and condition security. Ningbo ranked No.1 in educational equality and No.3 in educational condition security among 15 vice-provincial cities. 
The actual measurement include four first class indicators,19 second class indicators,55 third class indicators. Four first class indicators include educational development index, equality index , condition security index and modernization index.
Educational equality index mainly reflects the rationality of educational resources allocation and consists of five second class indicators: enrollment rate of migrant rural workers in compulsory education period, the funding for economically poor students, balance level of inter-school compulsory education and inter-county compulsory education and the level of an urban-rural compulsory education integration.
According to the Report, the educational equality index of Ningbo ranked No.1 with 0.95 among 15 cities followed by Hangzhou, Chengdu, Qingdao and Wuhan.

Zhenhai cooperates with German University to build vocational education center

Recently, the first high-skilled talents training center by Dresden University of Technology from Germany settled down in Zhenhai Vocational Education Center, which symbolized the start of the cooperation between Zhenhai Vocational Education and German university to build the first-class high-skilled talents project. 
German’s vocational education earns reputation worldwide. Its "dual system" mode is the often followed by vocational education in all countries in the world. Dresden University of Technology, founded in 1828, is a famous state application-oriented University and one of the bases for training vocational talents in Germany. Its vocational level ranks first class in Germany and its special education concepts and unique teaching methods have been recognized by Germany and other European countries.
