The other day, Wang Huizhong, Member of Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of Ningbo Municipal Party Committee, met with Lin Fengzheng, Vice Chairman of the Kuomintang.

Wang Huizhong expressed his welcome to Lin Fengzheng for his visit to Ningbo and introduced to him the economic and social development of Ningbo and the cooperation of Ningbo and Taiwan. In his introduction, he said that Ningbo is an important port city in southeast coast of China that opens to the outside world with well-developed economy. In recent years Ningbo is linked ever more closely to Taiwan in exchanges in trade, culture, education and health. In its long history, Ningbo is closely linked to Taiwan and the Taiwan merchants of Ningbo origin have made great contribution to the economic and social development of Ningbo. Wang Huizhong said that Ningbo will go on strengthening the mutual cooperation the two places and promoting the relationship of the two places.

Lin Fengzheng expressed his thanks to Ningbo and his wish to promote the exchanges and cooperation of Taiwan and Ningbo in trade and culture.

Officials Qiu Xiaoling, Wang Jianbo and Hong Jiaxiang were present at the meeting.

Ningbo to advance low carbon city experiment

According to a meeting held in Ningbo on April 2 to address climate change, Ningbo will use market forces, make carbon exchange pilot experiments, build the trade platform for carbon emission exchanges, and develop the market for regional carbon exchanges.

Vice Director of the National Development and Reform Commission Xie Zhenhua made a keynote speech. Speakers at the meeting include Gong Zheng, Member of the Standing Committee of Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and Executive Vice Governor of Zhejiang, and Liu Qi, Vice Secretary of Ningbo Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Ningbo. Shou Yongnian, Member of the Standing Committee of Ningbo Municipal Party Committee and Executive Mayor of Ningbo, and Wang Jianshe, Secretary-general of Ningbo Municipal Government, were present at the meeting.

At the meeting, a review was made of the work that China had done in the previous five years in response to the climate change, an analysis was made of the present situation and tasks, and arrangements were made for active steps to address the climate change problem and to promote low carbon development.

List of Ningbo Top 50 Tax Payers 2012 released

According to Ningbo Municipal Economic Information Commission, the list of Ningbo Top 50 Tax Payers 2012 was released Zhenhai Petrol Refining and Chemical Company of Sinopec Corp. is on top of the list for its payment of 15.38 billion yuan.

Of the top 50 enterprises for local taxation, the threshold is 155 million yuan, 16.85 million yuan more than in 2011. The average of tax paid amounts to 1.085 billion yuan, 6.71 million yuan more than in 2011. Of the top 50 are 30 industrial enterprises, 12 service enterprises, 8 enterprises in construction industry, and the total of tax paid amounts to 54.23 yuan, covering 35.3% of the local financial revenue.

5 enterprises are newly added to the list.

Of the top 50, the top 10 are: Zhenhai Petrol Refining and Chemical Company, Ningbo Tobacco Plant, Daxie Petrochemical Co., Ltd., Youngor Group, Ningbo Port Group, Bank of Ningbo, Zhejiang Guohua Zheneng Company, Zhejiang Geely Automobile Co., Ltd., Ningbo Shenzhou Textile Co., Ltd., and Ningbo Wanhua PE Company.
