Ningbo’s GDP per capita in 2019 reached US$21,000

According to the statistics from Ningbo Statistics Bureau and Ningbo Investigation Team of the National Bureau of Statistics issued on January 22, in 2019, Ningbo achieved a total GDP of 1.19851 trillion yuan, up by 6.8% over the previous year, 0.7 percentage point higher than the national growth. The GDP per capita stood at 143,000 yuan, that is, about US$21,000.

“The economy is running smoothly on an overall basis. And in a steady and progressive way, the industrial development is picking up.” said a person in charge from Ningbo Statistics Bureau. The solid promotion of the high-quality development and the continuous improvement of people’s livelihood have laid a solid foundation for the high-level comprehensive construction of a well-off society of the city. 

The industrial production has rebounded steadily.

Public data collecting and monitoring platform for charging facilities launched

The public data collecting and monitoring platform for the charging facilities at the municipal level, developed by Ningbo Power Supply Company of the State Grid, was officially launched on January 21.

The emergence of this platform is closely related to the continuous expansion of the new energy vehicle market. By the end of 2019, the number of new energy vehicles in Ningbo had exceeded 40,000, including 124,000 private cars, 3,800 buses and 188,000 rental vehicles. Accordingly, such enterprises as Ningbo Power Supply Company, TGOOD, Ningbo Lvjie, Yongyichong and Star Charging have built a number of charging facilities.

Reportedly, the platform aims to meet the demands of 50,000 charging poles, with the functions of data access and management, operating monitoring, and operation data analysis.

Ningbo ranks No.5 in intelligent manufacturing index list

On January 17, the 21st Century Industrial Research Institute released the “2019 China Intelligent Manufacturing Index (CIMI) Report”, the first intelligent manufacturing index independently issued by a domestic think tank. Ningbo ranked No.5 in the “Urban Intelligent Manufacturing Index List”, with Shenzhen, Shanghai, Beijing and Hefei being the top four.

The so-called intelligent manufacturing refers to a human-machine integrated intelligent system composed of intelligent machines and human experts. Through the cooperation between people and intelligent machines, the system can expand, extend and partially replace the mental labor of human experts in the manufacturing process. By extending the concept of manufacturing automation, the flexible, intelligent and highly integrated manufacturing has been realized.

According to the 2019 CIMI list, the top ten go to Guangdong Province, Jiangsu Province, Beijing, Zhejiang Province, Shandong Province, Henan Province, Shanghai, Hubei Province, Fujian Province and Hunan Province. With the good industrial environment, robust industrial development strength and high technological support, Guangdong Province ranks No.1 in the list.

Ningbo Customs promotes the construction of foreign trade platforms

It is learned from a conference held on January 19 that in 2020 Ningbo Customs will boost the institutional innovation and the governance ability development, support the construction of the foreign trade platforms and promote the linkage development of the seaport, the landport, the airport, the post port and the information port of the city.

In 2019, Ningbo Customs examined and released 5.0872 million pieces of import and export declarations, up by 5.7% over the previous year. The import and export goods under supervision by the customs reached 174 million tons with a total value of 17.1 trillion yuan, up by 2.6% and 6.7% respectively. Ningbo Customs is playing an increasingly important role in serving the opening-up policy of the country and promoting the regional economic integration.

Ningbo becomes a “dark horse” domestic city for tourism during the Spring Festival
