Ningbo to set up National Pickled Food Quality Supervision and Inspection Center

People in Ningbo can trustingly eat traditional pickled food such as pickled mustard root, smelly wax gourd, brined vegetables,brined fish, brined mud snails, etc. Recently informed by Ningbo Quality Supervision and Inspection Administration, the preparation work and construction scheme of National Pickled Food Quality Supervision and Inspection Center have passed experts’ evaluations and it will be set up in Ningbo. This center will become the only authoritative institution specialized in pickled food. Its works mainly include the following: exploring inspection skills, doing standardization researches, inspection and technical consulting services. The center will be equipped with advanced inspection equipment having high quality and safety and being able to examine illegal additives and true property. The examination range covers all pickled food such as vegetable products, fruit products, egg products, meat products, bean products, aquatic products, etc. Zhejiang Province has long been the main producing area of pickled foods. The pickled food industry in Zhejiang Province is developing rapidly in recent years, covering over 80% of market share with Sichuan Province.
