The 65th birthday of New China is around the corner this week, and the annual Cixiao Festival is arriving too. On the night of September 28th, the opening ceremony and the party of the 6th China Cixiao (benevolent of parents and filial piety of children)Festival was held in Ningbo Grand Theatre.
Jiangbei is the cradle of Cixiao culture in China. The virtues of Ci and Xiao has been passed on from generation to generation. As one of the major activities of Cixiao Festival, the party will present models of Cixiao with impressive performance and shows, which have won the audience' likes.
In order to promote the traditional virtue of Ci and Xiao, Civilization Office in Jiangbei District launched a selection campaign called Role Model in Jiangbei. Through the activity, many touching stories and good persons were discovered. After recommendation, online voting, and expert evaluation, four categories of role models were selected: hard-working, integrity, filial piety and kindness. In the party, 16 winners were awarded and their stories touched all the people present.
In the opening ceremony, Chen Yunjin, Chairman of Ningbo Charity Federation, entrusted by China Charity Federaton, presented the highest prize "China Charity Outstanding Contribution"to Jiangbei District, which won the honor because of "Jiangbei Cixiao Fund", which is worth 53 million yuan and have spent 9.51 million to help more than 26,000 people who are in need.
In January 2008, Jiangbei District won the title of "the Cradle of China Cixiao Culture". In order to inherit Cixiao Culture, Jiangbei Charity Federation set up "Jiangbei Cixiao Fund" in 2011. The fund will mainly serve the old and children, including three major projects. Now there are altogether 25 funds, which cover the poor groups and charity projects in all fields.

In order to alleviate the traffic pressure, the Municipal Traffic Administration Bureau decided to run another targeted bus line from the Central Bus Station in Baisha to Dongqian Lake Tourists' Center during the National Day Holiday. Different from the first one, this bus aims to solve the traffic jam during the busiest tourism season. The bus will be coded as "Dongqian Lake Tourism Bus" and start service from October 1st to 7th. The bus will travel along Xinma Road—Daqing South Road—Jiefang North Road—Zhongshan East Road—Fuqing South Road—Yinzhou Road—Yinxian Road—Zhenlan Road—Dongqian Lake Road. It is 25.3km long, with 6 stops along the way: Baisha Central Bus Station—Huaishu Road(Raffles Square)—Dongmenkou（Tianyi Square）—East of Jiangxia Bridge—Century Oriental Square—Dongqian Lake Tourists' Center. There will be four regular buses in the morning and afternoon respectively. Since 7:45 to 9:00am, there will be one bus every 20 minutes. The buses will return since 15:45 to 16:20, every 10-15 minutes. The whole journey will take 80 minutes, without conductors. The ticket fee is 3 yuan. Only coins are acceptable. No bus card and no change.
Passengers can take the bus at any stops from the departure stop or the business centers along the way. They can arrive at the Dongqian Lake Tourists'Center directly, where they can travel around the lake with the lake bus.
