21 Ningbo enterprises ranking among Top 500 Private Enterprises

Co-organized by Chinese Private Enterprise Federation, Chinese Statistics Association and the Enterprise Research Center of Chinese Management Science Institute, the 2014 list of Top 500 Private Enterprises in China was completed and released to the public on October 26.

The list shows that the top three of the private enterprises go to Suning Group, Legend Holding Co. Ltd. and Weiqiao Pioneering Group, with their yearly turnover being 279.813 billion yuan, 244.031 billion yuan and 241.387 billion yuan respectively. The 21 Ningbo enterprises are mainly those in such fields as manufacturing, wholesale and building, with many of them having foreign trade or real estate business. The Youngor Group, the Aux Group, the Grand Resources Group, the Yinyi Group and the ECMCity Market Development Co. Ltd. are listed among the top 100 of the private enterprises in China.

E-commerce Talents Festival boosts talent recruitment

The series of recruitment activities of the 1st Haishu E-commerce Talents Festival has come to a successful end recently. The preliminary statistics show that 2581 people have been employed, including 2065 e-commerce specialists, by related enterprises, which has greatly alleviated the shortage of e-commerce talents for enterprises.

In June this year, Haishu District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau started cooperation with the e-commerce enterprises and some key enterprises seeking for transformation and upgrading through developing e-commerce in the district They published the recruitment information on such major websites as "Ningbo E-commerce Talent Web" and "Ningbo Talents Web" as well as the intranets of over 40 colleges or universities in Ningbo and other cities. Meanwhile, a series of related recruitment activities have been launched, including the 1st Medium and High-end E-commerce Talent Fair and the "Qishang" E-commerce Talent Fair.

According to the organizing committee of the activities, with the online and offline recruitment, the e-commerce enterprises in Haishu District have received CVs from 14931 candidates, 17.3% of whom have so far been employed by related enterprises.

Ningbo takes the lead in Zhejiang Province in online sales

Statistics from Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce show that in the first three quarters of this year, Ningbo achieved a total online retail sales volume of 34.143 billion yuan, up by 89.16% over the same period of last year, ranking No.1 in terms of growth rate among all the cities in Zhejiang Province. The retail sales volume of the large-scale social consumer goods for the traditional offline commerce stood at 107.79 billion yuan, up by 12.3%.

With the development of e-commerce in the city, the local and third-party e-commerce platforms are flourishing and products made in Ningbo have been exported to the outside world through the online platforms. For the first three quarters, the growth of the online retail sales volume of Ningbo is 35 percentage points higher than that of the whole province, accounting for 8.99% of the volume of the whole province instead of the 7.32% of last year. With the emerging consumption model of e-commerce, Ningbo citizens are now enthusiastic about online shopping. In the first three quarters, the online consumption volume of Ningbo citizens reached 35.756 billion yuan, up by 47.88% over the same period of last year.

"New technology dividend" brought about by mechanization

As the leading elevator light curtain supplier in China, Ningbo Weco Optoelectronic Co. Ltd. accounts for over 60% of the domestic market share. To further improve productivity and production efficiency, the company has invested 12.9 million yuan in the application of the infrared scanning sensors in the production line. "The project will soon be completed and put into operation, leading to the annual production of one million new-style elevator light curtains with an annual added production volume of 30 million yuan." said a person in charge from the company.

Like Weco, since the beginning of this year, 40 technique reform projects In Beilun District have completed the registration procedures with a total investment of 1.05 billion yuan. "Among all the registered projects, over a half are the technique reform of assembly lines for auto parts, and others include the technique reform projects for the production of such high-end equipment as magnetic materials and precision machine tools." said an official from Beilun District Development and Reform Bureau. The projects, to be completed by June 30, 2015, will bring about "technology dividend" for enterprises, and promote the transition from "made in Beilun" to "created in Beilun".
