Rapid growth of export of home appliances

According to the inspection department of Ningbo, in the first 5 months in 2013, the export of home appliances from Ningbo add up to 41.500 shipments, valuing 1.53 billion US dollars, increased respectively by 13.3% and 16.5% year on year.

In the value of the exported goods, the first three countries for the exports are EU (427 million US dollars, USA (335 million US dollars) and Brazil (72 million US dollars). In the categories of the exported goods, the thermal appliances and electric tools value respectively 790 million and 425 million US dollars, increased by 9.0% and 36.7% respectively year on year. Of the exported products, food processers and food mixers value respectively 58.32 million dollars and 49.68 million dollars, increased by 262.7% and 188.2% respectively year on year.

Ningbo to be in the network of high speed railway this month

Hang-Yong high speed railway is to open last this month. Then, there will be 71 pairs of trains running every day, a new epoch for the people of Ningbo. According to the railway department, the timetable will be officially released in early June, for the benefit of the citizens.

According to the timetable, Ningbo East Railway Station will have G coded trains to Shanghai, Hangzhou and Nanjing, and other cities via other lines. Through the Jing-Hu line, Ningbo will have an express to Tianjin, Jinan, Xuzhou and Beijing. It takes 5.5-6 hours from Ningbodong to Beijingnan, and 3 hours to Hefei.

Ningbo is a central city in the south of the Changjiang River Delta. In the past, Shanghai, Hangzhou and other cities had high speed railway and Ningbo didn't. This has affected the development of logistics, passenger flow and other industries. The integration of Ningbo in the high speed railway network will tremendously change the way of traffic for the people of Ningbo,

Beautiful embankment on the Yaojiang River

Near Sanqin Village of Cicheng Town on the bank of the Yaojiang River, there appeared a newly built river embankment that is lined trees, and topped by a paved road, with flowers and grasses on the slopes of the embankment: an amazing picture against the Yaojiang River. 
This is the embankment project of the river under construction. At present, Jiangbei District has started the construction of the Cicheng section, an embankment of 7.5 km, about one third of the total of the Jiangbei section. 
The Yaojjiang Embankment Project starts from the border of Jiangbei and Yuyao in the west, to the Qinglinwan Bridge in the east. It is an important flood control project in the Comprehensive Plan of the Yongjiang River Basin and a project funded by Zhejiang Province, Ningbo City and Jiangbei District. The estimated investment totals 1.18 billion yuan. It consists of building and strengthening 21 km of dykes, renovating 13 water gates and 5 pump stations. 
The project also aims to promote the functions of the river in sightseeing and recreation. It will restore and make protection of the ancient ferries, old water gates and other cultural relics, to display the culture of the river and the landscape beauty along the river.

Ningbo to build 145 demo buildings of renewable energies

Ningbo has decided to start 145 building projects in five groups which adopt renewable energies According to Ningbo Housing Construction Committee, these buildings are 8.03 million square meters in total, the size of 115 football grounds. In the life span of these buildings, 1.4 million tons of standard coal can be saved.

As a demonstrative city of China for buildings adopting renewable energies, Ningbo has in recent years got 70 million yuan from the state as special funds for the projects. With the subsidies of 80,500,000 yuan from the local government, the city will invest over 150 million yuan in the construction of demonstrative buildings with renewable energies. The city has released a series of policies that, for instance, all the buildings in the projects should have integrated solar thermal water system and that office buildings and large public buildings should have at least one renewable energy.

"Calculated by the life span of 50 years, the 145 projects can save 1.4 million tons of standard coal and reduce the emission of 35,000 tons of CO2, 3.8 times the amount of coal saved in the last year by closing down the backward production facilities," said a related authority of Ningbo Municipal Commission of Construction.
