Ningbo International Tea Festival to open in May

According to the news conference on held on April 23, the 7th Ningbo International Tea Culture Festival is to open in Ningbo International Conference and Exhibition Center from May 9 to 12. So far, all preparation work for the two events is going on smoothly.

The Tea Culture Festival is organized by China International Tea Culture Research Institute, China Tea Trading Association, China Tea Association, Zhejiang Agricultural Department and Ningbo Municipal People's Government. The theme of the festival is "tea makes a better life". The activities in the festival include exhibitions and sales, trade talks, exhibition of tea culture and and the subjects will include economy and trade, excellence selection and other related activities, and these activities aim to carry forward the tea culture of Ningbo, and promote the transformation of the tea industry of Ningbo.

So far, the preparation for the exhibition is on the final stage and 400 stalls have been ordered. The tea expo has an exhibition area as large as 10,000 sq m. The products to be in the exhibition include tea, tea utensils, tea food, books and paintings of tea. There will be other activities like tea art contest, exhibition of famous tea and so on

A forum of the green industry

According to Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Labor and Social Security, from April 18 to 21, the 3rd Brubbs forum opened in Ningbo. The theme of the forum is "syntheses and green industry" involving the fields of green synthetizing, green macromolecular reaction engineering, and green macromolecular manufacturing technology.

It is learned that The forum this year had several dozens of academic leaders from seven countries including USA, UK, and France, and top-level experts and engineers home and abroad in the fields of chemistry, chemical engineering and material science.

The Grubbs forum is a high-end academic form named after Robert Grubbs, winner of the Nobel Prize for Chemistry, and Academician of American Academy of Science and American Academy of Arts and Sciences. The forum takes syntheses as its theme and it opens in Ningbo once a year.

Ningbo Women Artists Association founded

On April 20, Ningbo Women Artists Association was founded and on the same day, the first Exhibition of Artistic Works of the Members of Ningbo Women Artists Association opened in Hall 4 in Ningbo Museum of Art.

Ningbo Women Artists Association is a non-government academic society of women artists of Ningbo and it is a branch of Ningbo Artists Association. The association aims to promote the work of women artists and provide them with a platform for their works, so that they can make greater contribution to the undertaking of fine arts of Ningbo.

The exhibition has about 100 works of 56 members of the association, including traditional Chinese paintings, oil paintings, water color paintings and so on.

The exhibition will remain open till May 4.

A non-profit school of fine arts opened in Ningbo

On the afternoon of April 18, a non-profitable school of fine arts jointly run by the "117" Artistic Center of Ningbo Municipal Cultural Center and Zhongshan Park opened in Xiashui Kindergarten in Dongqian Lake.

This school is a project of Ningbo Municipal Cultural Center, aiming to be a platform for the children fond of painting. The school is funded on the sales of the works of children in contest of paintings.

According to a meeting held on April 18 on the work of products quality, Following the targets of "quality foremost and rational development", Ningbo will implement five key projects to promote services of the government and the quality of development in economy, society and ecology of the city.

The five projects are: the quality cultural project, the quality infrastructural project, the quality improvement project, the quality safety project and the quality project for the people. To fulfill the targets, the city will integrate the education of quality into the educational system of middle and primary schools, to strengthen the construction of quality capacity, and to create new advantageous conditions in technology, standard, brand and service. In the construction of platforms for talents and quality, the city will concentrate on the implement of the systems of chief quality officers and quality engineers and practice the "four strategies" of intellectual property rights, standardization, brands and management. The city will establish a quality supervision system that integrates the responsibility of the government, the responsibility of government departments, the responsibility of enterprises and the participation of the society. Every year, the city will have 10 major serving-the-people projects, organize regular investigations of the satisfaction of the public for quality so as to provide the public with quality services and to create an environment for quality development.
