Couple divorces over husband's snoring

A husband's incessant snoring led to a couple's divorce in Ningbo city, in neighboring Zhejiang Province, Qianjiang Evening News reported Wednesday.

The 30-year-old wife, surnamed Wang, said in her divorce application that she had not had a sound night's sleep since she married her husband, surnamed Gong, in October 2012. Gong's heavy snoring caused her to get ill and she lost 7.5 kilograms in the first six months.

Even though there are medical solutions for snoring, Wang said instead the couple quarreled and never talked about how to find an answer.

Wang filed her divorce application in Zhenhai Court in Ningbo last month, saying she could not stand the sound of her husband's snoring anymore.

The divorce was granted and Wang paid Gong compensation of 5,000 yuan (US$806.45), the judge said.

EU (China) Art Exchange Center opened in Ningbo Museum of Art

The other day, EU (China) Art Exchange Center opened in Ningbo Museum of Art. From now on, Ningbo Museum of Art will have closer relationship and more exchanges with the art institutions of the member countries of EU. Ningbo is the first city in China that will have direct exchanges with the member countries of EU. 
EUCNC is a non-profitable organization of Council of the European Union, and it aims to promote the cooperation between EU and China in economy, culture and trade. After its investigation of several dozens of the art organizations in the cities in China for its partner, It has finally chosen Ningbo Museum of Art. Xie Jianzhong, secretary-general of EUCNC expressed his with that Ningbo Museum of Art would make use of its advantageous conditions and play a role in promoting the artistic exchanges with EU countries by various means for the success of artistic exchanges, exhibitions and lectures of the two parties.

August 8 is the fifth National Sports Day. For this event, the sports departments of Ningbo organized a series of activities for the people. On the evening of August 3, in Jiangbei District, the 4th Sports Meet of the District opened on the Square of Hongtang Community. At 7 o’clock on August 4, Beilun District opened the ceremony of “10,000 people going for a walk” program. In Haishu District, the “10,000 people going for a walk” program started on August 5. 
On August 8, Ningbo organized a series of physic fitness activities: the opening ceremony of Ningbo physic fitness day, the Yinzhou Bank Cup Walk Activity at Dongqian Lake, and a lecture on fishing in Ningbo Swimming Center. 

Forum on Economic Cooperation of Ningbo and Hong Kong to open in October

According to the organization committee, the Forum on Economic Cooperation of Ningbo and Hong Kong 2013 is to open in Hong Kong from October 15 to 17. 
At the meeting the organization committee made a report of the related information of the forum. It is reported the Forum on Economic Cooperation of Ningbo and Hong Kong 2013 is themed on “Deepen the Practical Cooperation". For the the win-win development, the two parties should expand the fields of cooperation, innovate the way of cooperation, involve the participation of enterprises of the two places, strengthen the cooperation of Ningbo and well-known universities, international companies in Hong Kong and large enterprises in Hong Kong, and substantially improve the cooperation and exchanges of the two places. 
Forum on Economic Cooperation of Ningbo and Hong Kong is an important platform of Ningbo for opening to the outside world. So far, it has run for 11 years. At present, preparations for the forum are going on in an orderly way. 
Hong Jiaxiang, Vice Mayor, attended and spoke at the meeting.

Ningbo released labor relationship harmony index

The other day, for the first time, Ningbo Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security released the labor relationship harmony index for 2012. In this index, Haishu, Cixi and Jiangdong rank the top three for their score of 94.47 points, 94.04 points and 92.34 points. 
The labor relationship harmony index was based on an investigation of the 16 counties, cities and districts of Ningbo by Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security, Ningbo General Trade Union, Ningbo Federation of Industry and Commerce and Ningbo Enterprises Association. The main indicators are the work of government departments, the law enforcement of enterprise and the satisfaction of workers. For each indicator there are sub-indicators. The assessment is made of the official statistics and the third-party investigation. The full score is 100 points.
