Citizens prefer short trips for Dragon Boat Festival

During this year's Dragon Boat Festival holiday, citizens in Ningbo still mainly conducted short trips to nearby places.

Some major scenic spots in Ningbo launched fresh and interesting folk activities, such as the ancient style carnival of the Chenghuang Temple, the "intangible cultural heritage theme tour" on the Nantang Old Street, the Dragon Boat Festival celebrations of Qiantong Ancient Town. A strong sense of experience not only involved tourists in the activities, so that the traditional culture were deeply rooted in people's hearts, but also strengthened the features of the festival.

It is worth noting that the passenger flow during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday was significantly affected by the weather. On the first day of the holiday, when the weather was good, many families chose to visit farms to get close to nature, or went to the Daren Village at night to see the bright lights and check in the new popular cultural and tourist scenes of the village.

As a popular destination for peripheral tourism, Ningbo has successfully caught the attention of tourists from Hangzhou and other surrounding places. According to Ctrip Travel statistics, Ningbo has been included in the top five favorite destinations for Hangzhou people, along with such big cities as Shanghai and Nanjing.

On June 24, statistics released by Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Commerce showed that during the three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday, 50 key commercial sample enterprises monitored in the city achieved a total sales volume of 390 million yuan, which leveled up that of last year's Dragon Boat Festival holiday.

Among them, eight automobile sales enterprises, including Ningbo Lixing and Zhongsheng Lexus, achieved sales of nearly 65 million yuan in three days, an increase of 84% year on year, becoming the biggest highlight of Ningbo's consumer market during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday. This year's holiday coincided with the Auto Expo, and major car companies offered unprecedented discounts to attract customers, adding fuel to car consumption.
