Industrial integration activates tourism in Fenghua

On December 7, at the launching ceremony of the global investment attraction meeting for "Fenghua Impression", a major provincial service industry project, ten famous businesses signed the agreement on the site for settlement, including Taiwan Soupspoon and Kuaiyuan Hotel. The project, with a total investment of 800 million yuan, will integrate the international trade center, the old-fashioned street (with the characteristics of the Republic of China period), and the urban tourist culture square, and become another core area for cultural-business integration.
"Modern tourism is no longer the traditional sightseeing, instead, a large tourist industrial chain featuring the leisure-centered tourist modes and multi-industrial integration has taken shape." said some principal government leaders from Fenghua County.
Culture, tourism and business have been co-developed in recent years. To promote such traditionally popular scenic spots as the Xikou Scenic Area and Tengtou Scenic Area, the Fenghua government has given full play to its culture of the Republic of China period, the Buddhist culture and the ecological culture. A dozen of documentaries, including the "94 Days in Fenghua" by the CCTV and the "Eminent Monks" by the Phoenix TV, have integrated culture with the tourist industry. The featured facilities, including the Seasonal Green Garden Hotel themed on the culture of the Republic of China period, have realized the organic integration of culture, business and tourism in addition to enhancing the tourist reception capacity.
Fenghua County has also cultivated a group of such new tourist modes as rural recreational tourism, ecological tourism, sports and leisure tourism, and marine tourism by increasing the integration of tourism with such other industries as agriculture, sports, marine economy and new media. The ecological bars, youth hostels and local cottages at Dayan Town may attract 500 to 600 visitors at a weekend. The new Zhengda Equestrian Club at Xiwu Street, a distinct project at the provincial level, has received 22500 tourists in the first year of its trial opening.
The integration has greatly promoted the development of the tourism in Fenghua County. In the first ten months of 2014, it received 11.7625 million tourists from home and abroad, an increase of 10.07% over the same period of last year, and achieved a comprehensive tourist income of 8.197 billion yuan, up by 16.14%. The tourist volume from such markets as South Korea and the Southeast Asian countries has increased by 329.37% and 551.38% respectively over the same period of last year.
