High-emission vehicles banned from entering Ningbo

High-emission vehicles will be banned from entering designated area from 7:00 am to 21:00 pm in Ningbo since this June, according to local traffic authorities.
Starting from June 4, the second workday after the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, local traffic sector and environmental sector began to impose a joint on-site inspection against high-emission vehicles driving in urban districts. Three violators were caught on the morning of June 4.
The ban forbids high-emission vehicles and vehicles which fail to meet the National Emission Standard from driving in designated urban districts from 7:00 am to 21:00 pm.
Ningbo had launched its first-phase ban against high-emission vehicles in August 1, 2013, when violators would recieve a fine since December 1 after a 4-month persuasion period. The second-phase ban has come into effect since June 1.
