Integrated model for import customs clearance starts

From October 16, the Bureaus of Inspection and Quarantine in the 12 cities or provinces along the Yangtze River Economic Belt, including Shanghai, Jiangsu Province, Zhejiang Province, Anhui Province, Jiangxi Province, Ningbo, Hubei Province, Hunan Province, Chongqing, Sichuan Province, Guizhou Province, and Yunnan Province, have launched the integrated model for import customs clearance, marking the full implementation of the new model of integrated customs clearance by the 12 bureaus concerned.
The implementation of the new model will further improve the convenience level of the foreign trade in the area and bring tangible benefits for Ningbo enterprises.
According to the related plans, the integrated customs clearance of the Yangtze River Economic Belt mainly includes "direct export clearance" and "direct import clearance". The 12 bureaus launched the full "direct export clearance" model on August 17, 2014. The model can realize the fast clearance of the exports and reduce the cost of clearance for enterprises by omitting the process of port documents exchange. It is estimated that with the old model, it takes at least 1.5 to 2.5 days for inspection and quarantine with a cost of 200 yuan. While with the new model, the exports can be cleared within a day with a low cost of no more than 100 yuan.
With the implementation of the integrated model for import customs clearance, it takes only 0.5 day rather than 1.5 days for clearance, and the cost will be no more than 100 yuan rather than 450 yuan.
According to the related personnel from Ningbo Bureau of Inspection and Quarantine, the integration reform of customs clearance along the Yangtze River Economic Belt will attract more projects to the area and improve the activeness of the regional economy as well as enhancing the convenience degree of foreign trade in the area.
