Ruiyan Community entitled "national eco-cultural village"

Recently, the Ruiyan Community of Beilun District received the honorary plaque for "National Eco-cultural Village" from China Eco-cultural Association.
As is known, the "national eco-cultural villages" refer to the selected administrative villages with good eco-environment, prosperous eco-culture, blooming eco-industry, human-nature harmony and strong demonstration role. Organized by China Eco-cultural Association and assisted by the provincial eco-cultural departments, the selection has been held annually since 2009. The list of the candidates is first submitted to Zhejiang Provincial Forestry Bureau by the related departments in Ningbo and then to the association, according to a person in charge from the Afforestation Office of Ningbo Forestry Bureau.
It should be noted that Ruiyan Village is the only one selected in Ningbo among the six selected in the whole province this year.
Boasting a green coverage rate of over 90%, the Ruiyan Community is a garden-like village with the featured landscape parks, the folk culture park, the botanical garden and the demonstrating flower fields. The three-meter-long flower corridor has become a natural eco-landscape integrating flower production, sightseeing, leisure and tourism, with the featured flowers, trees and other plants with colorful leaves and flowers. In addition to increasing the income of the villagers, the landscape is also an epitome of this "flower and plant village". Xu Zheng, Director of Zhejiang Environmental Protection Bureau, and Wu Feiming, Deputy-director of the Rural Affairs Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology, spoke highly of the village's eco-civilization construction after their inspection of Ruiyan Community. In 2015, the community was entitled the "eco-cultural base of Zhejiang Province"
