Ningbo Week to Open in Shanghai in May

It was learned from the recent municipal meeting on national economic cooperation that Ningbo will hold this year’s Ningbo Week in Shanghai in May.

Last year, Ningbo Week was held in Qingdao to promote marine economy cooperation, in Changchun to enhance industry and in Nanchang to enlarge port hinterland, which scored 81 projects with a total investment of 35.16 billion Yuan.

The goal of Ningbo Week this year will be joining Shanghai in building the International Financial Center and the International Shipping Center. The focus will be on introducing entity economy and modern service industry, strengthening cooperation on advanced industries, developing Ningbo marine economy and attracting Zhejiang businessmen who are now in other provinces back. Cooperation and exchanges among Ningbo, Shanghai and other neighboring areas will be held through high-level visits and cooperation meetings on investment and promotion, technology and talents, travel and commerce.
The economic cooperation bureau of the city aims to introduce a domestic fund of 50 billion Yuan and 500 projects of key fields, to support Zhejiang businessmen with entrepreneurship and innovation, to get enterprises back to Zhejiang with projects worthy of 25 billion Yuan, to deliver an industry- transferring fund of 600 million Yuan to Quzhou and Lishui cities. Also, 60 cooperation projects in Shanghai and Yangtze River Delta with an agreement fund of 3 billion Yuan are expected to be signed and 30 projects with an amount of 1 billion Yuan on balancing development of mountain areas of southwestern Zhejiang and eastern developed areas are to be added

Donghang Construction Group Won Lu-Ban Award

Recently, the Cixi Hang-Lung Business and Rural Cooperative Bank Building，which was constructed by Zhejiang Donghang Construction Group Co.,LTD (Eastern Construction for short) won the Luban Award—the highest award of construction industry in China.
Ji Zhongda, chairman of the Eastern Construction, comes from Kandun, Cixi. Starting his career as a mason, Ji set up his own construction team later. In 1993, Ji Zhongda won the bid for the Cixi International Trade Building and the successful construction of the building granted him a good reputation in the construction industry then.
For the past few years, the Eastern Construction has won a series of prizes for superior projects through many constructions such as “Qianjiang Cup”, “West Lake Cup”, “Yongjiang Cup” and “Haishan Cup” as well. It has also been named as the Zhejiang Outstanding Construction Enterprise and Zhejiang High-Integrity Construction Enterprise. At the end of last year, the company spurted for the Luban Award and finally won the big prize through its construction of the Cixi Hang-Lung Business and Rural Cooperative Bank Building project.

Ningbo enterprises received orders of $456 mln in East China Fair

Ningbo group in the 22nd East China Fair got orders of $456 Million, up 8.1% over the previous fair, with clothing, textiles and household goods being the first three, according to Ningbo Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau on March, 9th.
21,100 foreign businessmen attended the fair, 5.07% up than last year with a decrease in the number of European and American businessmen. More orders are of small quantity and short terms.
Asian businessmen were active in ordering. Of the orders Ningbo group has received, Japan ranked first, followed by Korea

Multifaceted talents in foreign trade favored

The 10th Job Fair of Ningbo Free Trade Zone (Export Processing Zone), initiated by foreign-funded and foreign trade companies, was held in Ningbo Conference & Exhibition Center on March 10th. With the recovery of foreign trade and economic restructuring and upgrading, companies have a growing demand for talents, especially those who can not only do foreign trade and but also possess expertise.
About 160 companies in Ningbo Free Trade Zone (Export Processing Zone) participated in the fair, including Chimei Innolux Corporation and other companies facing labor shortage. Talents in over 30 majors including international trade, marketing, foreign languages, chemical engineering, mechanical design and manufacturing, electrical engineering, mechatronics, computer, quality control, management, accounting, human resources, secretary are welcomed.
"We've expanded our importation of high-end consumer goods. Therefore, we need multifaceted talent who can do foreign trade and possess professional expertise as well. But we still lack such talent", said a recruiter with Sellers Union Co., Ltd.
The fair yesterday attracted about 6500 people from different places.
