So far, 60,678 enterprises in Ningbo are involved in the construction of harmonious enterprises, 4,625 enterprises of which have been entitled "harmonious enterprises". On the afternoon of April 11, the leading group (enlarged) meeting for construction was held to review the work done last year and discuss the deployment this year. Wang Yong, Deputy-Secretary of Ningbo Municipal Party Committee and executive Vice-Mayor, attended the meeting and made an important speech.
Wang Yong pointed out that Ningbo Party Committee and Government have been paying great attention to the transformation and upgrading of enterprises and their harmonious development. The construction of harmonious enterprises has been included in the comprehensive deployment of the economic and social development, and as the most important part of implementing the "six-quickening" strategy, innovating social management and building a civilized city, it has made great achievements. Related departments at all levels should have a better understanding of the situation and the significance of the construction work to provide services in accordance with the new requirements of achieving better economic development, strengthening and innovating social management, developing harmonious labor relations and accelerating the improvement of living standard of staff.
By devoting themselves to deepened development, the departments should make efforts to enlarge the coverage of the construction, improve the levels and system of the construction and enhance the real effects of the construction, thus making further progress in improving the working standard of harmonious enterprises construction. The organization, cooperation, objective management and guidance should be enhanced to promote the further development of the construction work.
Vice-Mayor Chen Yijun and Hu Jianyue, Vice-Chairman of Ningbo People's Political Consultative Conference and Chairman of Ningbo Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, attended the meeting. The opening ceremony of the Ningbo Assessing Center of Corporate Social Responsibilities was held during the session.

According to the latest statistics from Ningbo inspection and quarantine departments, in the first quarter of 2012, Ningbo's exports to Russia, Brazil, India and South Africa reached US$312.34 million, up by 17% over the same period last year.
It is learned that Ningbo enterprises have been paying unprecedented attention to those countries with emerging markets since the "Vuvuzela" became popular during the World Cup in South Africa. The domestic markets of these four countries, all boasting a large population, have a big demand for consumer goods after decades of golden period of development. Ningbo's small household appliances and textiles and garments are among the most popular goods there. In the first quarter, the export of air-conditioning parts and heaters reached US$34 million and that of textiles and garments reached US$23 million.
Specifically speaking, the export to Russia amounted to US$117 million, an increase of 25% over the same period last year, and the export to South Africa, US$56.11 million, an increase of 17%. The markets are growing much faster than the traditional markets in the developed countries
