Maxwin(China) Settled in Hefeng Creative Plaza

Maxwin, a fast-fashion garment brand, relocated its design and research headquarters in Ningbo Hefeng Creative Plaza on October 18. A 1000-square-meter exclusive shop of Maxwin was opened in the Plaza on the same day.  

Maxwin was founded by Shenzhou International Group Holdings Limited with a registered fund of 62 million US Dollars. Shenzhou International Group, as the largest longitudinal integrated knitted manufacturers in China, planned to build Maxwin into a brand making cost-effective clothes for all family members from 0-50 years old. By relying on its leadership position in domestic knitting manufacturing industry and giving full play to the advantage of its rapid reaction of the supply chain, it would focus Maxwin’s development on clothing design, research and development, retail expansion and marketing.  

Hefeng Creative Square was planned by the municipal government to be built as Ningbo’s cluster of design and creative industries. And it was also a city card transforming Ningbo from a manufacturing city to a design city. After one year of its operation, the Plaza has absorbed a group of industrial design and creative enterprises including IAT Automobile Technology Co., Ltd. (Ningbo), Ningbo ARTOP Design Inc.. The signing and occupancy rate of the plaza exceeded over 70%, showing an increasing agglomeration effect.

Job market getting hot

Ningbo's job market began to pick up in October after a lull during the passed summer. According to Ningbo Human Resource Market, many local factories are short of technical talents as their orders are increasing in the fourth quarter.

In contrast to the strong demand of marketing talents in August and September, the need for mechanics talent is hot in October. Ningbo's human resources markets organized a total of 13 job fairs in October, nine focusing on mechanics and labor talents.

According to a working staff of Ningbo Human Resources Market, said that a number of domestic and international holidays are celebrated in Q4. Driven by the holiday consumption, local factories began to see rising orders, which triggers increased labor demand. Local job market has seen pickup after the National Holiday, and it is expected to reach a peak toward the yearend.

Human resources authority said they will hold job fairs for the soon-to-graduate university students in November.

Large-Scale Industrial Investment Promoted Economic Transformation

As the champion of Potassium sorbate production and sales, Ningbo Wanglong Group Co., Ltd. has invested 600 million Yuan to expand its industrial chain since 2009. As a result, Wanglong’s sales reached 1.39 billion Yuan in the first eight months of this year, an increase of 5 times over the same period last year.

Since the beginning of this year, Yuyao enterprises, especially private ones, have kept on increasing their investment in production. In the first nine months of this year, industrial investment in Yuyao reached 9.877 billion Yuan, an increase of 36% over the same period last year. The total amount and the growth of the investment ranked the front row in Ningbo. 80% of the investment was made by private enterprises and 48 newly-launched industrial projects all belong to private enterprises.

Inspired by the leading enterprises, Yuyao enterprises speeded up their pace in transformation and upgrading. The output of Large-scale industries reached 79.94 billion Yuan in the first nine months of this year, an increase of 1.7% over the same period last year, while the output of the four largest emerging industries, ranging from new equipment, new material, new energy and energy-saving to electronic information, reached 36.7 billion Yuan, an increase of 15.6% over the same period last year.

Ningbo first exports grilled eel to Australia

Ningbo has exported its first batch of frozen grilled eel to Australia recently. The products were inspected by Cixi Inspection and Quarantine Bureau. To date, Australia has become another emerging market for Ningbo-made grilled eel, next to Japan, the European Union, the United States, Canada, and Russia. The move indicates Ningbo is seeing promising export market of grilled eel, and will go further in international market.
