Ningbo has a science project funded by Ministry of Science and Technology

The other day, the Ministry of Science and Technology released the list of key scientific and technological projects for the construction of village and community living quarters. On the list is a project named “Construction Technology Integration and Demonstration of Ecological Villages and Towns on the Southeast Coastal Areas, a project recommended by Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology and undertaken by Ningbo University. The national fund for the project is 9.02 million yuan. 
The National Key Technology Research and Development Program is an important part of the national science and technology development program, aiming to promote the scientific and technological research for the national economy and social development. According to Ningbo Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, the approval of this project indicates the zero breakthrough Ningbo has made in getting the project and it also indicates that Ningbo in the front row of the country for the scientific innovation in the construction of the new countryside. This project, undertaken by Ningbo University, is a first successful case that is organized by a province independently listed in the national plan.

On April 22, the social gathering for cooperation and exchange with Jilin-Ningbo residents in Hong Kong was held in Hong Kong. The delegation of Jilin Province joyfully gathered with Ningbo Residents Association (Hong Kong), Ningbo & Hong Kong Fraternity Association, International Ningbo Merchants Association and other Ningbo celebrities, to renew friendship and talk about cooperation and development. Governor Bayin Chaolu attended and delivered a speech.

Bayin Chaolu on behalf of Jilin provincial party committee, provincial government and the provincial delegation thanked Ningbo residents in Hong Kong for their warm reception. He pointed out that Ningbo has been a remarkable place producing outstanding people since ancient times. All of you here are distinguished people who have made outstanding achievements in Hong Kong and made positive contributions to the prosperity and stability of Hong Kong. You are the pride of the people of Ningbo. Many of you are "honorary citizens" of Ningbo City, and have made outstanding contributions to the rapid development of Ningbo. I’ve worked in Ningbo for years, and it is very cordial for me to meet you again today.

Tianyi Pavilion in China's Ningbo

Having survived more than 430 years, Tianyi Pavilion is the oldest private library in China, one of the world's three oldest private libraries and the best-known tourist spot in the city.

Situated beside the picturesque Moon Lake in west Ningbo City, the library covers an area of 26,000 square meters and has amassed a collection of 300,000 volumes, 80,000 of which are rare books. The founder of the library, a former official in several cities around China, collected books from his friends. Handwritten book copies were the main part of his collection.

The pavilion also features exhibits chronicling the pavilion's history and Chinese art exhibits. Many buildings in the pavilion are dotted amongst ponds, rockeries and groves in intricate gardens. [bbs.fengniao]
