Recently, the landscape project between Wuli Bay and Ji Village along the eastern shore of the north Dongqian Lake has been put under construction and is planned to be completed and open up before the end of this year. Coupled with the completed southern shoreline, the length of the landscape leisure line along the lake will exceed 10 kilometers, allowing residents and visitors more space for hydrophilic leisure activities and landscape viewing.

"With the operation of the bicycle lane around the East Lake Road and the development of the 'Shilisixiang' tourist project, there is a substantial increase in the number of tourists, which means the existing facilities can no longer meet the new demand. The landscape project along the eastern shore of the north lake makes it possible for the bicycle lane to extend for more leisure space." said a person in charge from the Management Committee of Dongqian Lake. The landscape belt of the southern lake area, 7.3 kilometers in length, is mainly an area for "ecological and leisure activities". With landscape viewing and on-water entertainment as its themes, the project now covers the Snail Mountain, On-the-water Park, Sunshine Beach and Mashan Wetland, with a total investment of 1.76 billion yuan. Statistics show that in the first half of 2013, the landscape belt along the lake attracted over 1.8 million tourists and 1.189 billion yuan as tourism revenue, and about 182,000 bicycle riders were reported to have cycled along the lake.

Association of Private Museums founded

Ningbo Association of Private Museums was founded on September 28. In recent years, private museums have blossomed in Ningbo. So far, there are 48 private museums in Ningbo, accounting for 9% of the total number of those in China, and almost 50% in Zhejiang Province.

According to incomplete statistics, a total of 1.12 billion yuan has been invested in the construction and exhibitions of the 48 private museums, with a large collection of over 50,000 pieces of treasure, including some invaluable ones. In the meanwhile, there are a group of high-level museum management and research talents in Ningbo. Yinzhou District has become the first "Museum Culture District in China" in Zhejiang Province.

Ningbo Association of Private Museums, a social professional organization approved by the municipal Bureau of Civil Affairs, is composed of 48 corporate members and 20 individual members. It will aim to improve the quality of development of private museums in Ningbo. In the future, by taking advantage of such quality cultural and collection resources as fine objects, prestigious artists, well-known works and brand enterprises, the association will give priority to the development of private museums that will fill the gaps of museum categories.

According to the news conference of Ningbo Municipal Government held on September 25, Ningbo Cultural Square is to open on September 28. From September 28 to October 7, a cultural festival will open on Ningbo Cultural Square, and a series of activities, classical and popular, will be organized for people of various ages.

Ningbo Cultural Square is a key cultural project of Ningbo for the 12th Five-Year-Plan Period. It is located in the center of Ningbo Eastern New Town, near Ningbo Municipal Administration Center. It covers an area of 22 ha, with a floorage of over 320,000 sq meters. With the investment totaling 3.25 billion yuan, it is so far the largest public cultural project of Ningbo.

In terms of functionality, the square is divided into four parts: cinemas, exhibition halls, artistic training centers for the general public, and art saloons. It has 7 facilities including the Science Center, the Poly Theatre, CGV International City, the Cultural and Artistic Training Center, Yulewan Children Center, Legao Center and the swimming center. With functionality of restaurants and shops, it is a first large comprehensive recreational complex in China.
