"Smart Ningbo" to be launched

In the era of large data, it has become the key function of the "Smart Ningbo" system to provide services for government decision-making and people's living by exploiting various kinds of information. It is learned from Ningbo Planning Bureau that the pilot project design draft for the "smart Ningbo spatio-temporal information cloud platform " has been approved by experts and Ningbo has become the fourth city among the first group of pilots to achieve the project approval.
By adopting such advanced technologies as the modern mapping and geographic information, cloud computing and Internet of things, the cloud platform will cover all the dynamic spatio-temporal information data collection from micro elements to macro circumstances and build the comprehensive cloud service platform integrating spatio-temporal data, functions, software and hardware for different urban departments.
To the public, the information cloud platform is significant. Where to play or eat? Where to find the nearest toilet or parking lot? You can find the answer to these questions by inquiring the cloud system.
Can the information be customized? Yes. It is said that the field attribute of data includes unique ID number as well as longitude and latitude, and can be specified to certain address, phone number, website and brief description. People can log onto internet via computer or mobile phone to enquire for the information needed.
Ningbo plans to complete the construction in three years. In 2014, it will start the construction of the database and management platform, and the updating and transformation of the high-resolution image data and large-scale basic urban geographic information data.
