Ningbo Airport launches direct flights to Europe

In about one month, the flight from Ningbo to Rome will be open at Ningbo Lishe International Airport, the first direct flight from Ningbo to Europe. Meanwhile, more flights will be added to the routes to Japan, South Korea and the Southeast Asian countries, consolidating the internationalized orientation of Ningbo Port.

In recent years, with the rapid development of overseas tourism and business, Ningbo has launched the flights to such major destinations as Japan, South Korea and the Southeast Asia. The new routes to Europe, though in form of chartered flights, will greatly extend the "air corridor" for Ningbo. The new flights, to be conducted by the Zhejiang Branch of China Eastern Airlines, will include the Ningbo-Rome (Italy) route to be launched on May 28 and the Ningbo-Frankford (Germany) route to be launched on June 6. The first stage will be the chartered planes and later on the airline will conduct scheduled flights, and now people can fly to Europe by participating in the package tours arranged by travel agencies.

For the existing routes, more flights will be scheduled. The Eastern Airlines will add more flights to Japan, South Korea and the Southeast Asian countries from June 10 on. To be specific, new flights to Osaka (Japan) will be added on Monday and Friday, besides those on Thursday and Sunday scheduled currently, and the new flights to Shizuoka (Japan) will be added on Wednesday and Sunday, besides those on Tuesday and Friday. For the route to South Korea, besides the Saturday flights to Cheju, chartered planes will be scheduled to Seoul, Cheongju, Gwangju, and Daegu. For the routes to Southeast Asia, there will be a daily flight to Bangkok, instead of only on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, and the flights to Danong (Vietnam) will be added on Wednesday and Saturday. In addition, the Zhejiang Branch of Eastern Airlines will launch the routes to Siem Reap (Cambodia) and Krabi (Thailand).

Reading Festival started on April 23, 2015

2015 Reading Festival kicked off on April 23. In the following month, Ningbo Book City will launch a series of activity to present a culture banquet for the people. 
During the activity, many writers will come to Ningbo, including returned overseas writer Wang Fei, Health Care Expert Yangli, Professor Yang Yongsheng from Tianjin Fine Arts Institute, famous collector Wang Jialong, writers Zhang Hongjie, Xiong Peiyun, Yang Yinlu. They will either have autographed sale or share their stories with the readers. 
Besides, famous domestic and foreign writers of children literature will also bring their new books to Ningbo. They will have close exchange with the children about reading and writing on the campus. The writers include Pigtail Sister Yu Yujun, King of animal novels Shen Shixi. 
Thanks to the east wind of public reading activity, Ningbo Book City will launch moonlight reading activity. Since May 8, it will prepare different programs like reading salon, classics interpretation, music show of ancient musical instruments, and lectures about speech in the report hall on the fourth floor. 
The traditional program in Book City—Ningbo Book City Classroom will also provide 20 classes during the activity. 
In addition, Book City will also launch experimental book purchase like custom-made books and gift box. 

Policy for new energy car decided

Ningbo will provide the new-energy car buyers with the same amount of subsidy offered by the central finance. It means buyers of new-energy cars will have double subsidy from both the central and local government. According to the Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology, the policies for new-energy cars in Ningbo will soon be published. 
According to the policies, the local finances of municipality, Haishu, Jiangdong and Jiangbei will provide the same amount of subsidy as the central finance to the car manufacturers or sellers since January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2015. Car manufacturers or sellers will sell the cars to the consumers at the price after deducting the subsidy. The maximum subsidy from the state and Ningbo will not exceed the 50% of the total price. It means, the buyers don't have to pay for it in advance like "Household Appliance Going Rural". 
It is learned that three requirements must be met for the successful application: the new-energy car has been included in the recommended catalog of energy-saving or new energy car; it has been recorded in the promotion and application office of new energy cars in Ningbo; sold in Ningbo. 
Currently, experts think the new energy cars will mainly be used and popularized in public utilities like bus, taxi, logistics lorries and sanitary cars. When the supporting facilities come of age, private car buyers will become the main force.
