China’s first all plastic septic tank for civic use developed

With deeper implementation of water environment protection projects such as Five Water Treatment, environment protection industry is now witnessing great popularity with an aim of upgrading septic tanks in residential communities. All plastic septic tanks produced by Cixi Deshun Container Company Limited, a private enterprise, are now being applied in many newly built or renovating residential houses.
There are two types of septic tanks in China’s residential communities. One is made from bricks and reinforced concretes which may result in polluting underground water resources and air through leakage with difficulties of washing and long period of installment. The other is composed of glass fiber reinforced plastics which is vulnerable to break and short-lived service life.
All plastic septic tanks are already widely-used in many countries including Russia and the UK. Currently, Deshun Container Company has produced China’s first all plastic septic tank which means an innovative revolution is drawing near. “It boasts a series of competitive advantages integrating product design, technology, raw material quality, safety and convenience. At the same time, it is also environmentally-friendly, water saving, highly-efficient and cost-effective.” said a person in charge of the company. The inner structure of the tank is composed of four parts: decaying part, clapboard, filter processor and holding-back part.It can effective purify, process, save and make the best use of water resources through filtration of domestic sewage, bio-treatment and decontamination. It is made from imported environmentally-friendly polythene materials and combined with rotational molding technology which bears no seam. The product has a series of advantages including no leakage and pollution, high capacity of loading, invulnerability to break, acid-base and erosion, service life of over 10 years. It can be installed in a day from earth excavation to installment. However, the price is almost as same as that of brick-made septic tanks and 10-20% lower than that of tanks made from reinforced concrete.
As a leading member of Rotomoulding Professional Committed of China Plastics Processing Industry Association, Deshun Container Company has been producing rotational molding storage tanks of 20, 30 and 50 tons for industries. Products are plastic cistern, incubator, cold closet, packing container and so on, which are widely used in many renowned enterprises such as Guangdong Redwall New Materials Co., Ltd and Shanghai Suntory Beer for liquid storage, mix and purification. It was not easy for the company to export products to countries including Russia, the UK, Italy, Australia and the Middle East countries and regions in the past due to big volume of products and inconvenience of transportation.
Septic tanks used in residential communities are quite different from industrial storage tanks not only because of the company’s shift from industry use to civic use but also the small weight of 1-3 tons and complexity of inner structure. Based on the original technological advantages, the company invited experts from Russia and the UK for product design and made it in 2013. The company launched the product in the market in the first half year of 2014, applied for practical technology patent in last July and got the approval in last December. The company is now applying for national patent for invention.
