Ningbo invested over 31 billion yuan in oceanic travel projects

In Hangzhou bay wetland, in Sanmenwan in Ninghai and on Xiangshan peninsular, all the oceanic travel projects are going on in full swing. According to Ningbo Tourism Administration,at present, Ningbo has 21 oceanic travel projects under construction, each of whose investment is over 100 million yuan. For the investment totaling 31 billion yuan, Ningbo is in the front ranks of Zhejiang.

In recent years, Ningbo has witnessed a high tide of the construction of oceanic travel projects. The holiday resort project in Xiangshan peninsular, the holiday resort in Ninghai Bay, the Fenghua Sunny Bay, the travel project in Ningbo Hangzhou Bay New Area, the project in the new area of Sanmenwan in Ninghai and the tourist resorts in Bailun District and Ningbo Meishan Free Trade Zone, all these projects indicate that Ningbo's tourist industry is shifting from the waterside to the oceans.

Today, Ningbo has 1 provincial-level oceanic travel resort and 8 national-level 4A oceanic travel resorts, and in this respect, Ningbo is in the lead of Zhejiang. As a result, Ningbo has a number of oceanic featured travel resorts as are represented by Songlan Mountain Tourist Resort, China Fishing Village, the Oasis on the Sea, the Hangzhou Bay Wetland Park, the Phoenix Mountain Resort, the Yangsha Mountain Scenic Spot, and Ningbo Aquatic World.

During the National Day Festival Holiday Week, thanks to the fine weather, those oceanic travel resorts were much favored by tourists, especially the self-driving travelers, even in the last few days of the holiday week

First batch of overseas public service platforms established

Ningbo made known its first batch of overseas public service platforms, sources from the foreign trade bureau said. To help enterprises to further explore the international market, accelerate the pace of "going global", the city selected its first batch of overseas public service platforms, which are Benin-based Chinese economic and trade development center, Nigeria-based Zhongce industrial Park and Australia-based Chinese famous brands showcasing and distribution center.
Private enterprises are playing major roles in overseas investments and the investment scale keeps increasing. By the end of July, Ningbo enterprises have established 1564 overseas investments and agencies, involving the total investment of 3.64 billion USD, among which, the Chinese investment takes 1.732 billion USD. The investments are scattered in 97 countries and regions. The government decided to give particular policy support to these platforms. Certain subsidies will be granted to those enterprises that exhibit on the platforms. 

City earmarks 158m yuan to build lifelong learning system

The opening ceremony of the Learning Center for Small Business Owners officially kicked off in Ningbo's Cicheng Vocational School on September 28.

The program attracted 40 students including farmers, unemployed, and college graduates. The school invited professional teachers as well as successful company managers to provide theoretical and practical guidance. According to an official surnamed Zhong in Cicheng Social Affairs Bureau, these students will receive a 100 -hour training before they graduate. Besides, they will attend a seminar in the Jiangbei District entrepreneurial club every month and have a talk with business experts.

Mr. Liu, the principle of Cicheng Vocational School,said that this was their fifth training course of the same kind, and they also offer various training programs. Statistics show that the school offered training classes for 798 rural laborers, 921 migrant workers, and 160 unemployed in 2011. A laid-off worker who is learning pastry making in the school said, "the school offers various training programs and it is very convenient for the learners." She plans to participate in the training class for agricultural agents after she passed the examination of the pasta making.

National High-Tech Zone Development Strategic Seminar Held in Ningbo

The 2012 National High-tech Zone Development Strategic Seminar and National High-tech Zone (Ningbo) Innovation Forum were held in Ningbo on September 24. This was the first time the national seminar was held in Ningbo. Vice Mayor Chen Zhongchao attended and addressed the conference.

After 20 years’ hard work, the high-tech zones in China have developed into an important force of the national economy. As a member of the “national development zones”, Ningbo Hi-tech Zone has introduced 200 R & D institutions and over 30,000 S &T talents and built 500,000 square meters of high-level incubators in accordance with philosophy of “a district of independent innovation, the core area of technology start-ups, a high-tech demo zone and a sci-tech park of harmonious development". It shall be turned into an important carrier of urban innovation and an S&T innovation base in the south of the Yangtze River Delta.
