Ningbo’s first locally made metro train rolled off the production line in the production workshop at the CSR Ningbo Industrial Base on Wednesday morning.
The first metro train made in Ningbo will be put into use on Phase I of the Ningbo Rail Transit Line 1. It is the lightest and most energy-efficient metro vehicle of its kind ever produced in China.
The train, made of 6 compartments, was designed with a maximum operational speed of 80 km/h and a maximum capacity of 2,062 passengers.
The exterior of the train uses white as its dominant hue with blue stripes added as well, while the interior adopts three colors of white, blue and silver and boasts a modern appearance.
The train’s accessories were supplied by many local businesses, with the electronic cables and wires being from the Ningbo Ship Group, the oil paint from Dongsheng Company, and the stainless steel chairs being supplied from the Ningbo Dafeng Group.

According to Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Environment Protection, from December 20, Ningbo is to increase the number of national air quality monitoring stations from 8 to 18. The 10 stations will be provincial-level stations in Cixi, Yuyao and Ninghai. As a result, Ningbo will have 18 air quality monitoring stations. The new stations will officially release AQI. This indicates that the city has established a real time air quality information system.
At present, Ningbo has 8 national air quality monitoring stations at Taigu Primary School in Jiangdong, Sanjiang Middle School in Jiangbei District, Ningbo Environmental Monitoring Center, Longsai Hospital in Zhenhai, the environment protection building in Beilun, Zhejiang Wanli University, the Municipal Administrative Department in Ningbo National Hi-tech Zone, and Dongqianhu Water Plant. The 10 provincial-level stations are located in Cixi, Yuyao, Ninghai, Xiangshan, Fenghua and Ningbo Daxie Development Zone. To be specific, there will be 2 stations in Cixi, 2 in Yuyao, 2 in Ninghai, 2 in Xiangshan, 1 in Fenghua, and 1 in Daxie Development Zone. The 10 stations will release AQI at the same time. This indicates that the city has established a real time air quality information system.
By the internet and mobile phones, citizens can access the 18 monitoring stations for the real-time data of the 6 pollutants, the AQI, the air quality class, the major pollutants, the change of AQI in 24 hours, and the change of AQI in the past seven days or 30 days.
