According to statistics from Ningbo Customs, from January to July this year, Ningbo’s total import and export volume reached 806.85 billion yuan, an increase of 10.9% over the same period last year. Among them, the export value was 528.01 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.6%; The import value was 278.84 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.6%. The total import and export volume, export value, and year-on-year growth rate of imports all achieved double-digit growth, and remained above 5% for four consecutive months, continuing to maintain the fifth place in the ranking of the top 10 cities in the country’s foreign trade.

The import and export volume of private enterprises and foreign-invested enterprises both achieved double-digit growth year-on-year. In the first seven months, the import and export volume of China’s private enterprises was about 700 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.3%, accounting for 75.6% of Ningbo’s total import and export volume in the same period, and the proportion increased by 0.9 percentage points over the same period last year. In the same period, the import and export volume of foreign-invested enterprises reached 143.55 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.4%; The import and export volume of state-owned enterprises reached 53.05 billion yuan.

Ningbo’s imports and exports to major trading partners maintained steady growth. In the first seven months, United States, the European Union and ASEAN were the top three trading partners of Ningbo, with import and export volumes of 138.04 billion yuan, 137.31 billion yuan and 102.97 billion yuan respectively, an increase of 14.8%, 7.7% and 20.3% year-on-year respectively. Australia is the fourth largest trading partner, with imports and exports of 42.31 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15.1%.

In addition, the city’s import and export volume to the “Belt and Road” countries was 351.29 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.6%; The import and export volume to other RCEP member countries was 205.85 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.8%.

The export volume of Ningbo’s traditional advantageous products in foreign trade continued to grow. In the first seven months, the city’s exports of mechanical and electrical products were 301.73 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.1%. Among them, the export value of household appliances, electrical equipment, general machinery and equipment, and auto parts was about 40.9 billion yuan, 34 billion yuan, 22.4 billion yuan, and 17.9 billion yuan respectively, an increase of 16.4%, 9%, 28.1%, and 14.5% year-on-year respectively.

In terms of imports, resource raw materials have been significantly boosted. In the first seven months, the city imported a total of 105.23 billion yuan of metal ore, copper, primary shape of plastics, refined oil, natural gas, aluminum and other six types of resource raw materials, a year-on-year increase of 25.5%, contributing an increase of 21.39 billion yuan in imports, contributing 73.8% to the city’s import growth, driving the growth of imports by 8.6 percentage points
