Nearly 100 billion yuan invested in eastern new town construction

Ten years have passed since the start of the construction of the eastern new town in 2005. According to the statistics from the commanding office of the eastern new town construction, so far over 96 billion yuan has been invested in the construction, with the seizure of over 10,000 mu of land and the demolition of about 3.35 million square meters of land. On a total construction area of 10.4 million square meters, 64 projects have been completed and still 34 under construction. 40 kilometers of road has been completed, and there is a new addition of green water area of 763,000 square meters.
Tall buildings have sprung up on the plain, where there used to be wastelands and farmlands. Currently, more than 90 enterprises, over 80 financial enterprises and over 700 enterprises involved in international trade exhibition have settled down in the Shipping Center. The three major industries have developed well, and the related supporting industries, such as insurance, accounting and legal services, have been attracted to the new town. A large group of commercial complex is speeding up their construction, such as Ningbo Center, Light of City, the "gateway area" and Intime City. The emerging industries have been introduced to build the regional industrial characteristics with the settlement of such enterprises or institutions as the Classification Society, Southeast Logistics, Lesli Multinational Enterprises Purchase, Balance Auto Insurance, and East China Sea Shipping Insurance
