Investment in Education System Infrastructure Increases 46%

These days, pictures of new school buildings in Yinzhou Middle School go viral on the internet and many netizens think highly of these buildings. It is said that in the autumn semester of 2014, there are 31 new school districts are running in Ningbo, among which 28 are newly-built while the rest are expanded on the basis of original ones.
In recent years, Ningbo has strengthened its investment in education system and striven to promote the development of an equal and quality education. It aims to construct every school into “a good school near home” to meet the demand of parents in an urgent need of good schools for their children.
According to the statistics, from 2011 to 2013, the investment in education system infrastructure in Ningbo was respectively 3.38 billion yuan, 4.38 billion yuan and 4.95 billion yuan, which shows that the investment of 2013 realizes an increase of 46% compared to that of 2011.
Governments at different level in Ningbo included the expenditure in standardized construction of compulsory education schools in the safeguard mechanism and put special emphasis on improving education level of kindergartens and primary schools in rural area. There are more than 80 kindergartens of provincial standardization are newly-built, rectified or expanded every year. Till July, 2014, there are 681 compulsory education schools in Ningbo, among which 75.8% reach the provincial standard. Till the end of 2014, the standardization rate of such schools in Ningbo is expected to surpass 82%.
