The First Autism Rehabilitation and Guardianship Alliance

Established in Ningbo City

On the morning of August 23rd, the Yuyao Branch of the Children's Autism Prevention and Control Center of Ningbo Women and Children's Hospital (hereinafter referred to as the Yuyao Branch) was unveiled, which is also the first autism rehabilitation and guardianship alliance in Ningbo. Its implementation will provide standardized diagnosis, systematic rehabilitation training, and professional home rehabilitation guidance services for children with autism spectrum disorders in our city.

Autism spectrum disorder (also known as autism, commonly referred to as autism) is a type of neurodevelopmental disorder that occurs in early childhood. At present, the incidence rate of autism in China is 2 ‰ to 3 ‰. This disease can lead to learning difficulties and social barriers. Without timely rehabilitation training and guidance, it can cause immeasurable harm to patients for a lifetime.

The Municipal Women's and Children's Hospital established the "National Early Childhood Development Demonstration Base" in 2017, and has become a designated autism rehabilitation institution designated by Zhejiang Province and the Municipal Disabled Persons' Federation. It is also a diagnostic institution designated by the Ningbo Disabled Persons' Federation for diseases such as autism and intellectual disabilities. In 2018, it established a cooperative relationship with the Pediatric Hospital of Fudan University in Shanghai to carry out early intervention and rehabilitation models for children with confirmed or suspected autism, with the participation of doctors, parents, and rehabilitation therapists. Good rehabilitation effects and social benefits have been achieved.

In November 2022, Ningbo Women's and Children's Hospital successfully established itself as the "first batch of national standardized construction and cultivation bases for autism". In April 2023, the hospital established the "Child Autism Prevention and Control Center"
