Ningbo increased cargo handling capacity

In the first three quarters this year, Ningbo invested 4.711 billion yuan in water transport infrastructural facilities. The construction of the key water transport projects including Meishan Container Wharf and the fifth Beilun Container Wharf are going on smoothly, with the cargo handling capacity increased by 56 million tons. This effectively relieved the structural imbalance of port and shipping infrastructure. According to a meeting on port and shipping,
in the first three quarters this year, the cargo-handling capacity and the throughput of containers the port of Ningbo amounted to 336 million tons and 11,972,000 TEUs, both being new highs in the history. The port has 706 container ships, whose DWT reaches 5,639,000 tons, ranking No.1 of the province. The ships inspected total 972, 1,408,700 in tonnage. The infrastructure of the port and transport is further improved.
