12000 water savers will be upgraded in 2014

On the morning of August 15th, the Public Utility Supervision Center of the Municipal Urban Management Bureau and Jiangbei Urban Management Bureau held a water-saver upgrading activity in Baihe Community
During the activity, people in the community got over 100 water-saving valves. Volunteers from the Urban Management Bureau helped install and debug the valves. According to the technicians, the traditional flush toilet wastes lots of water because it uses a button and its water tank uses rubber drain valve. However, the water-saving valve, which is very easy to install, can save 50% water. Each household can save about 20 tons water every year.
The upgrading of water-savers is a key project of the “Water Treatment Campaign” in 2014. Ningbo plans to replace 12000 water savers, including 5000 in the downtown and 7000 in other counties and cities. Up to now, 8500 water savers have been distributed in the whole city, including 3357 in the downtown.
