Imported products from Ningbo Airport in the first quarter grows by 30%

By integrating into the "Belt and Road" initiative and improving the service and hardware of airport economic circle, Ningo Airport is actively expanding its international and regional freight airlines. Data from the Administration Committee of the airport and logistics park show that 3584 tons of goods have been imported from the airport in the first quarter, increasing by 29%. The total volume of import and export reached $284m, increasing against the trend. The international(including region) express mails amounted to 0.95 million, increasing by 120%. The volume of express reached 2335 tons, increasing by 86.2%.
Since the start of freight airline from Ningbo to Taiwan, it has been very busy. By the end of March, 111 flights have been completed, transporting 0.4m imported and exported mails, weighing 1116.2 tons, accounting for 31% of the total imported and exported cargo from Ningbo Airport.
In addition to the freight airlines to Hongkong and Taiwan, the bellyhold for the international flights is also an important factor for the rapid growth of imported and exported cargo. In the first quarter, there were about 2067 international flights, increasing by 17%.
Aiming at the future development, Ningbo Airport and Logistics Park invested ￥104m in the rebuilding of the freight transportation area. The newly-built international cargo station, the rebuilt domestic cargo station and other necessary supporting houses for cargo will ensure that the cargo transportation area will meet the demand for cargo transportation development in the following 5 years. The newly-built international cargo station has an area of 13 thousand square meters, with a cargo capacity of 80 thousand tons. The project has been completed. When the third phase of the airport is put into use, the former cargo transportation area will be removed to the new one.
