Ningbo has achieved its total foreign trade value of $100.33 billion in 2013, becoming the first city in Zhejiang province to exceed one hundred billion dollars in foreign trade. Can foreign trade in Ningbo continue to make records under such a complicated international situation attracts wide attention.
According to the statistics released by Ningbo Customs, Ningbo’s total foreign trade value from January to November in 2014 stood at RMB587.13 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.2%. If converted to US dollars, the number is $95.57 billion, a year-on-year increase of 5.4%. It is self-evident whether another one hundred billion dollars can be made.
Canton Fair tells the foreign trade situation. Ningbo’s forieng trade has grown against the backdrop of continuous decline in transaction volume and purchaser number. Statistics from Ningbo Customs revealed that the number of imports hit RMB176.47 billion yuan, down by 9.5% and RMB410.66 billion yuan in exports, up by 11.5% with the trade surplus of RMB234.19 billion yuan in the first 11 months. This is 2 and 7.1 percent in increase and 9.1 percent in decrease more than national level.
