Huge screen films at a lower price

"Only by breaking monopoly can we offer audiences better huge screen films at lower prices," according to Yang Xuepei, head of the China Research Institute of Film Science & Technology.
The IMAX from Canada, with advanced equipments and technologies, has monopolized Chinese huge screen film market for more than ten years.
Chinese huge screen films, though developed in recent years, grow quickly. Examples include excellent Chinese movies The Flowers of War, Guns and Roses and Hollywood blockbuster Hobbits. According to Mr. Yang, development of Chinese huge screen improves the technology and breaks the monopoly of the IMAX company.
The IMAX huge screen system costs more than 10 million Yuan while Chinese huge screen takes about half of that to achieve the same film quality. “One has to pay 180 Yuan for an IMAX huge screen film but only 130 Yuan for a Chinese huge screen film. I believe that audiences prefer to the cheaper one,”said Yang.
It has been learned that huge screen systems promoted by film companies have grown fast since 2011. Polymax by Poly Culture Group Corporation Limited, Auro 3D by Zijing Pictures and X-land by Dalian Wanda Group will be expected to contribute to a cheaper huge screen film price.
