Craftsman Spirit Boosting “Made in Yuyao”

Recently, 13 front-line workers in Yuyao were awarded “Innovative Worker”. They’ve all won a prize in the Municipal Proper Vocational Proposal Competition five times in a row and held over 2 innovative achievements. Moreover, they contribute to over 2 million’s revenue of their enterprises. The award was another measure Yuyao adopted to enhance staff competency and improve the brand Made in Yuyao by craftsman spirit.
With economic transformation and innovation, to cultivate a high-quality labor force became imperative. Since 2010, Yuyao has held more than 170 large vocational skill competitions with over 20,000 participants. Many young workers honed their skills during those contests as well as in their daily practice, and consequently realized their dreams. Thousands of workers obtained high-level professional qualifications and nearly 200 won the title at the municipal level, “Model Operator”.
Through various activities and awards, Yuyao established a platform for the development of its over 0.3 million front-line workers and paved the way for the growth of skilled talents.
Liu Gangfan was an ordinary maintenance worker in Ningbo Great Leisure Products 9 years ago. And during those years he invented quite a few non-standard devices, greatly benefiting the examination and maintenance of equipment in his company. Now he has been awarded “Innovative Worker” and “Chief Worker”.
Guidance of the senior also promoted the craftsman spirit. Han Tongfa an outstanding technician in Ningbo Changzhen Copper, discovered and fostered plenty of young talents while devoting himself to technical innovation and upgrading. His student Luo Gaosheng has gained over 20 patents so far and contributed to over 10 million yuan for his company in total.
In the past 5 years, more than 500 front-line workers in Yuyao have won titles of honor and 54 advanced operational rules were named after inventors among them. Over 80,000 proposals were gathered from workers, of which 71 have bring over 0.35 billion yuan’s economic profit. An official in charge of the labor union in Yuyao said that the craftsman spirit highlighting discretion and perfection had become the engine for the development of its innovation, qualities and efficiency
