High performing investment driving industrial transformation

Early this year, a flagship shop of Auchan opened in Xinxing Shopping Center in Haishu District and it became a favorite for customers in the western part of the city. In 2012, the investment in Xinxing Shopping Center reached 250 million yuan and at present the block 3 is under busy construction and will open by the end of this year. Several international well-known brands will settle in the center, and it will further invigorate the industrial structure of Haishu District.
"High performing investment does not mean ‘output bigger than input', so we firmly reject those highly polluting and energy consuming projects, even thouth they are profitable. What we care is whether a project can upgrade the industrial structure and whether it can bring big social effects," said a related authority of Haishu District. This year, Haishu District will concentrate on the quality of investment. It plans to make progress in 54 key projects and complete investment of 11 billion yuan in fixed assets.
Reportedly, this year Haishu District will start a program "Quality Investment Promotion Year, which takes the key functional blocks as the principal part. It will ensure the completion of Ningbo Railway Station, the Southern Square of the Railway Station and the first phase project of Lianhuaqiao Business Complex.
