National Day Reception held

Ningbo Government held the National Day Reception on the evening of September 28 in Ningbo Pan-Pacific Hotel to celebrate the 63rd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Liu Qi, Deputy-secretary of Ningbo Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Ningbo, made an important speech on the reception. Other officials who attended the reception include Wang Yong, Deputy-secretary of Ningbo Municipal Party Committee, Hu Modun, Vice Director of the Standing Committee of Ningbo Municipal People's Congress, Wang Jiankang, Chairman of Ningbo People's Political Consultative Conference, Zheng Yu, Chairman of Ningbo People's Political Consultative Conference, and Wang Jianshe, Secretary-general of Ningbo Municipal Government. Vice-mayor Hong Jiaxiang presided over the reception.
The honored guests invited include the foreign experts working in Ningbo, the senior foreign managers from some joint ventures, the representatives from the Ningbo offices of foreign organizations, the representatives of compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, overseas Chinese and foreign overseas Chinese, and the heads of some related departments in Ningbo.
Firstly, on behalf of Ningbo Municipal Party Committee and Ningbo Municipal Government, Liu Qi extended greetings and best wishes to the citizens and those (such as some compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, overseas Chinese and other people) who care about and support the development of Ningbo. He said, the 63 years witnessed China's great achievements, increase of overall national strength, improvement of people's living standard and the significant enhancement of China's international statu s and influence. The people take great pride in the great progress of the country. With the development of the whole country, great changes have been made in Ningbo and Ningbo's construction of the modern international port has achieved a lot. On the 12th Ningbo Party Congress held this year, the overall objectives and strategic tasks for the following five years were proposed. With the in-depth development of the "three thoughts and three pursuits" campaign and the "six quickening" strategy, Ningbo has made great progress in its economy and society under the pressure of the complex economic situations from home and abroad. With the fast development in all sectors, stable increase in livelihood investment and social harmony and stability, Ningbo is ready with a new look for the coming 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
Liu Qi said, the following period is critical to Ningbo's transformation from a well-off society to a modernized society. By further implementing the scientific development and "six quickening" strategy, Ningbo is working on achieving the "two realizing" objective and the "4A demonstration areas" construction. It is firmly believed that with the tireless efforts of all the citizens and support from our friends from home and abroad, Ningbo will witness a better tomorrow.
