Ecological civilization construction in Ningbo

At the "811" promotion and inspection meeting for ecological civilization construction held on September 29, the provincial inspection team deemed that Ningbo Municipal Party Committee and Ningbo Municipal Government did well in carrying out the in-depth energy saving and emission reduction and accelerating the elimination of backward production capacity. It is agreed that Ningbo has achieved much in its ecological civilization construction, especially in promoting remediation of industrial pollution and improving the quality of eco-environment, by making great efforts to develop ecological economy and promote industrial transformation and upgrading.
Led by Zhejiang Eco-province Construction Office, Zhejiang Provincial Development and Reform Commission and Provincial Environment Protection Department conducted the special inspection of Ningbo's "811 promotion action" of ecological civilization construction this year from September 27 to 28. The inspection team carried out on-site inspections in Yinzhou District and Beilun District, and listened to the work report by Ningbo Municipal Government.
Since the beginning of this year, Ningbo has passed 112 construction projects on ecological civilization, including such sectors as environmental infrastructure construction, industrial upgrading, environmental quality improvement and environmental and livelihood security. In the meanwhile, Cixi County and Yinzhou District passed the assessment of provincial ecological county (district) construction, Ninghai County passed the technical assessment of state-level ecological county construction, Jiangbei District and Beilun District have made great progress in the construction of provincial ecological districts, all of which has laid a solid foundation for the ecological city construction of Ningbo. In terms of energy-saving and emission reduction, in the first half of this year, Ningbo cut down on the chemical oxygen demand by 6.39%, ammonia nitrogen by 3.89%, sulfur dioxide 2.55%, nitrogen oxides by 3.54%, making it one of the only four cities in Zhejiang Province that have completed the target assessment.
