Development of waterside areas in Jiangbei

In 2012, Jiangbei is to have a new wave of development. According to updated information, the 12 projects on the north banks of the Yongjiang River and the Yaojiang River have started in an overall way and the investment in the 12th Five-Year-Plan Period will amount to about 80 billion yuan.
The north banks of the Yongjiang River and the Yaojiang River total 22 square kilometers, being a very important part of Ningbo's urban development strategy.
In 2011, some projects including the Wantou Area and Baisha Park started. This year, 27 projects including 12 key ones will start, involving 4.685 billion yuan.
The focus of the projects will be those concerning people's livelihood. In the time to come, the district will complete the resettlement housing projects and the renovation projects of old living quarters, whose coverage area will total 1,500,000 sq meters. According to the plan, the district will build a number of schools, hospitals, recreational centers and other public facilities.
