Advanced Scientific Researches Combine With Private Enterprises in Ningbo

An executive of Ningbo Baody Autoparts Co., Ltd said that their 10-year cooperation with China North Material Science and Engineering Technology Group created a golden period for the company’s development. “Automobile hubs are hit products of our company. The technology group is the biggest hero behind each material enhancement and process improvement of hubs during all these years,” he said. The industrialization of cooperative technology has created newly-added output value of 2 billion yuan in total for the company.
The key technology contributing to a booming Baody is named Differential Pressure Casting Technology of Large, Complex and High-Quality Aluminum Alloy Castings. Compared with the previously applied low-pressure casing technology, it excels for its prominent improvement in the crash performance of aluminum alloy hubs. This technology won the second prize in Science and Technology Awards Conference of Zhejiang Province in 2013.
As a matter of fact, this top new material technology group located in Ningbo National High-Tech Zone has succeeded in numerous cases as “Baody case”, in which R&D and industries are perfectly combined. For example, the technology group cooperated with Ningbo Vulcan Mechanical Seals Manufacturing Co., Ltd. in Boron Carbide-Base Project which has been listed in the National 863 Plan of 2013; it also cooperated with Ningbo Zhanci Metal Industry Co., Ltd in High-Performance Aluminum Alloy Composite Plates Project listed in the International Cooperation Plan of Ministry of Science and Technology.
Zhao Baorong, dean of China North Material Science and Engineering Technology Group, said, “We actively serve the development of local economy. Basing on scientific development of ordnance materials, facing weaponry and the demands of global civilian market for materials and technologies, we have realized an integrated development of materials science and technology, materials engineering and processing, R&D and industrialization; we have constructed a science and technology innovation platform for revitalizing key industries and developing strategic emerging industries, so as to provide all-around and comprehensive services to enterprises’ technological innovation.”
At present, the technology group has established cooperation with over 500 enterprises including Riyue Heavy Industry Co., Ltd and Ningbo C.S.I Power & Machinery Group Co., Ltd. It has provided services to over 3000 enterprise projects, 700 of which are listed in national and regional science and technology plans such as the National Science-technology Support Plan and the National 863 Plan. These cooperation projects create newly-added output value of 10 billion yuan for enterprises per year on average.
