A 10,000-ton main shipping channel to be open at Shipu Port

The first 10,000-ton main shipping channel will be launched in August in Xiangshan County. Recently, the draft of the first phase of the main shipping channel of Shipu Port area has been approved by Ningbo Municipal Commission of transport. Upon completion, the channel can guarantee the free access of million-ton ships.
The main channel project will start from the Sanmengkou Bridge of the Shipu Port, and will connect with the international channel after bypassing the north Zhongjieshan Island and crossing the Xiawanmen Waterway. To be built as a 50,000-ton channel, the project will be divided into three phases. The 10,000-ton one-way channel, 24km in length, as the first phase of the project, will be built during the 12th Five-year Plan period, with a total investment of about 190 million yuan.
