Yinzhou to be built as a "back garden" for Ningbo

After two years' improvement and transformation, the first phase of the Liang-Zhu Cultural Park, with a total investment of 230 million yuan, has been completed, adding to the scenic areas such spots as Liang-Zhu Academy, the Zhus' House, Temple of the God who unites persons in marriage and the ancient villages. The park is just one of the five "billion-yuan" level projects in Yinzhou District. In the first ten months this year, with the building and completion of such projects, the district greeted 12.0257 million visitors and achieved a tourism revenue of 12.184 billion yuan, up by 10.6% over the same period last year.
In recent years, the district has been arranging an annual budget of 100 million yuan on the construction of the tourist projects and environmental improvement. To further promote the development of its tourism industry, the district has made it an objective to "build the regional tourist destination". During the 12th Five-Year Plan period, it will carry out five “billion-yuan” level key tourism projects, including Tiantong Temple – Ashoka Temple Tourist Resort, Liang-Zhu Cultural Park, Tashan Mountain Tourist Resort, Ningbo Universe City and Taoyuan Bay Leisure Resort, with a total investment of 13.5 billion yuan.
The major tourist projects are smoothly under way. So far, the Stone-carving Art Museum, the core part of Tashan Mountain Tourist Resort, has been completed and is now stepping up its interior display. The Taoyuan Bay Leisure Resort has signed with OCT Group to promote its overall advancement. Ningbo Universe City has accomplished a total accumulated investment of 1.58 billion yuan. All kinds of new types of tourism, including cultural relics tours, ancient road tours, countryside tours and conference & exhibition tours, have sprung up in the district. With the supporting policies, Yinzhou District has integrated all the 20 free-access museums into a special cultural tour route and has greeted nearly five million visitors from home and abroad in the past three years.
"Tourism is a key part of the improvement of developing quality. We will actively implement the spirits of the 18th CPC Congress and develop tourism into a pillar industry of the third industry sector. We will make efforts to realize the leap development of tourism in the following five years and build Yinzhou District into the 'back garden' of Ningbo." said Chen Weijun, member of the Standing Committee of Ningbo Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of Yinzhou District Party Committee.
