Overseas engineers boost economic transformation and upgrading

By introducing a high-end R & D group led by four overseas engineers, Ningbo Jingda Machine Co. Ltd. from Jiangbei District has built a world class system of research & development, management and sales. The "micro channel" project hit 40 million yuan in sales for the first year, with a profit of over 40%, amazing people in the industry.
In recent year, Jiangbei District has made great efforts to build the demonstration zone for industrial transformation and upgrading. Based on a series of new "talent-introduction" policies, the district has taken such measures as building the venture park to introduce overseas talents in various forms. By the end of last year, it had introduced 76 overseas engineers and 560 foreign expats, and helped to solve over 230 technological problems. There had been over 50 newly-approved patents and 80 projects on new product research, development and design. The introduction had helped over 40 enterprises to step on the road of independent innovation, and directly led to an added value of over 600 million yuan and a tax revenue of about 120 million yuan, greatly promoting economic transformation and upgrading.
The "Yongyou" grape variety, cultivated jointly by Japanese and Israeli exports and introduced by Jiangbei Lvyan Fruit & Vegetable Cooperative, has won the gold medal several times in the specialized competitions at different levels. With the help of two American experts, Ningbo Yngling Light Industrial Co. Ltd. has been converted into a company with a profit of 10 million yuan from one with a loss of 500,000 yuan within two years. Ningbo Huaxiang Group has established the Huaxiang Auto Parts R & D Co. Ltd. after introducing Dr. Kirsten from Germany to carry out the research and development of new auto products. It has provided strong R & D support for the group and helped to achieve an annual output value of 2 billion yuan.
