Ningbo imported food boasting high pass rate

It is learned from the press conference held by Ningbo Inspection and Quarantine Bureau on June 17 that in the first 5 months of this year, the pass rates for imported food and imported agricultural products stood at 90.9% and 89.4% respectively, and all the substandard products have been banned from being imported to Ningbo.

From January to May, there are 1317 batches of imported food, with a total value of $86.901 million. The imported food mainly includes wine, fruit and vegetable products, food products, and vegetable oil. Every batch of food has been tested by the inspection and quarantine departments, among which 120 batches were found substandard, accounting for 9.1% of the total.

From January to May, there are 2,815 imported agricultural products with a total value of $496 million. The imported produce mainly includes legumes (dried), timber, animal skins, food products, animal hair, and feed additives. 297 batches of the produce are substandard, or a failure rate of 10.6%, down by 3.8%.
