Another 10 billion yuan to be invested in the eastern new town

According to the construction plan, in 2015, the focus will be put on the promotion of medical, educational and cultural facilities. The Cultural Experiment School attached to the East China Normal University and the eastern campus of Xiaoshi High School will be constructed, with a total of 96 classes, as well as the community medical and health center of the eastern new town and Ningbo Eye Hospital, with an addition of 350 hospital beds. The comprehensive public traffic stations and the CBD landscape project will also be started. The infrastructure construction of the central area will be completed in 2015, including the northern part of the ecological corridor, the Citizen Square and the Central Square.
The eastern new town will become more populous with the construction and operation of the public facilities in the central area. In terms of industries, the International Shipping Square and the CCS (Zhejiang) Building will be put into use, and with the completion of the eight industrial projects including the northern part of the portal area and the second phase of the International Finance Center, the modern service industry will attract more employment. The amount of citizens living in the eastern new town will grow. It is estimated that 350,000 square meters of residential housing will be delivered in 2015, leading to an accumulative residential housing area of over 2.6 million square meters. By the end of 2016, the population of the residents in the new town will reach 90,000, while that of the employment will reach 50,000. Meanwhile, by taking advantage of the metro, cultural facilities and landscapes, the eastern new town will actively conduct the business attraction and accelerate the completion of the business projects still under construction.
