Beilun takes the lead in formulating documents to safeguard lawyers’ professional rights

When handling cases in Beilun Court, lawyers feel something quite different: before the trial, the court will fix the trial time in advance. A green channel is also set while leaving the court, thus lawyers are spared the effort of being under the strict scrutiny. Big progress has also been made in problems such as the obstacle in reading the case-related materials. This is due to the relevant documents Beilun Court has issued so as to respect and safeguard lawyers’ professional rights.
“ Judges and lawyers are two major forces that safeguard judicial fairness and party’s lawful rights. However, they may encounter some inevitable difficulties during the judicial practice. For instance, they have once bickered on the internet about the security check issue and some problems were even on the tips of many lawyers’ tongues.” said an official in Beilun Court. The document is issued to safeguard their professional rights in accordance with the law, form a virtuous interaction between judges and lawyers and promote the rule of law and civilization in a fundamental way.
It is learned that the court has formulated over 30 stipulations to protect lawyers’ professional rights in accordance with the law, proceeding from aspects of safeguarding lawyers’ professional rights,
improving and completing a communicative system between judges and lawyers and making the relationship between judges and lawyers more orderly. For problems like security check and green channel, lawyers who attend the court to perform their functions will be free from personal scrutiny after showing valid certificates and registration. For the problem of respecting lawyers’ opinions, it is stipulated in the document that the judge should listen to lawyers’ opinions earnestly and not to interrupt them impolitely.
Moreover, stipulations are made in many detailed aspects in the document including setting a special space for meeting, writing and having a break, providing tables and desks, WIFE and so on to make lawyers feel cozy and convenient. The court has also launched a Lawyer’s Mail on its website to collect suggestions and opinions from lawyers in a normal way.
