The introduction of a foreign expert promotes the turnover of the enterprise from 10 million yuan to 100 million yuan, with a profit of about 10 million yuan just within a year. What sounds like a myth has been staged in Jiangdong District recently.
This happened in Ningbo Taili Electronic Technology Co. Ltd., an enterprise specializing in the R & D, sales and services of radio frequency module products for wireless mobile communications. At the end of 2011, the company spent about one million yuan in introducing Martin Caron, a foreign expert. Over the past two years, the group led by Martin has made great breakthroughs in the research and development of waveguide filters and diplexers, and soft waveguide products, with 23 items listed in the new product plans at the municipal level. The company has turned into the major supplier for such leading communications companies as the ZTE and the DTmobile. In 2012, Taili Electronic completed an output of 90 million yuan, an increase of about 9 times over the previous year. In the first eight months of this year, the company has realized an output of 120 million yuan.
Taili Electronic is not the only company in Jiangdong District to have benefited from the introduction of foreign experts. In Ningbo Huayi Garments Co. Ltd., the introduced foreign designer may bring about an extra business income of 20 million to 50 million yuan, which has greatly promoted the transformation of the company from a traditional garment trading enterprise to a garment enterprise with independent brands. By introducing overseas engineers as technology counselors for its High-tech Magnetics, Ningbo Yunsheng Group has achieved the optimization of its quick-setting process and completed the automation of the molding press. which has effectively improved the quality consistency of its products and helped the enterprise to increase its promit by nearly 8 million yuan.
So far, Jiangdong District has introduced over 60 foreign experts, covering such fields as finance, trade, shipping and logistics, and professional service industry. Among them, 15 experts are funded annually by the "overseas engineer" subsidy. They have boosted the growth of nearly 10 local talent groups, completed about 100 patents for invention or new practical patents, and brought about a profit of one billion yuan to related enterprises.
