New urban management model in the eastern new town

From sweeping brooms to GPS sweeping vehicles, from working independently to coordinating between urban management, public security and traffic police, the social management in Ningbo eastern new town makes breakthroughs by reforms and innovations. Recently, the first 37 sweeping vehicles have been put into use in the new town to dynamically maintain the cleanliness of the streets and roads. With 30 more sweeping vehicles to be put into operation, the rate of the area swept by vehicles will surpass 85%.

Besides improving the mechanized operating, the urban management department of Jiangdong District tries to realize the marketization of the cleanliness maintaining mechanism by introducing the third-party inspection organization to supervise the operating. Through open bidding, two cleaning companies were employed to do the cleaning job of the streets and roads. A third-party inspection organization has been introduced to examine the result of cleaning and green conservation.

In the new town, the urban management departments and public security and traffic police departments have adopted the new concept of "co-building and sharing". "Through joint bidding, urban management departments may explore some important spots on-site, and all related departments can co-build the video surveillance system." said a person from the Smart Urban Management Center of Jiangdong District. Dinosaur exhibition to be held
